My childhood?  That’s a good laugh.  I was with a rag picker until I was nine years.  I left cause I figured I should e able to keep the money I earned with a few pence to her for the roof over my head.  After that I went to work for Madame at the ‘Church’; only it wasna a church at all, but a brothel.  I was a maid there until recently.   What was your greatest talent? I s’pose ye could say it was servin’ the ladies wot worked at the Church. I’ve always been a fairly good at pickin’ pockets and rememberin’ things.  It comes in handy when hidin’ from the police.   Significant other?  That’s a might personal, doona ye s’pose.  I’m only fourteen years as near as I can remember.  I never worked at the Church, if that is wot ye…

Book Title:   A DEADLY VOW – Angus Brodie and Mikaela Forsythe Murder Mystery — Book 5 Character Name:  Angus Brodie   How would you describe your family or your childhood?  Until the age of ten I was raised by my mother.  My father was long gone.  After my mother’s murder, I lived for a time with my grandmother, then on the streets of Edinburgh before finding my way to London   What was your greatest talent?   Survival to be certain.   Life is hard on the streets. Ye live by yer wits and skills ye pick up along the way…  If ye live long enough.   Significant other?  Significant–now there is something I never thought of the way I’ve lived—on the streets, then with the MP, and now with my own inquiry cases.  Life is hard and uncertain.   Then there is someone who comes along unexpected…  someone who is intelligent, stubborn, fearless and makes me want things I once thought I could never have.  She is unpredictable, frustrates the devil out of me, and I canna imagine my life without her.   Ye know who I mean.   Biggest challenge in relationships?  Trust.  The one I spoke of earlier; I know that…

1–What is the title of your latest release? DEADLY ILLUSION – Mikaela Forsythe and Angus Brodie Murder Mystery Book 4 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Ghostly images that appear and float across the stage, objects that levitate into the air, and a beautiful assistant who disappears inside a glass box.  The case is no sleight of hand, but a series of dangerous illusions meant to deceive both Mikaela and Brodie, and perhaps make them both disappear for good, while the murderer goes about his deadly scheme. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? That’s easy since the series is set in late 19th century London; however, they will be traveling in this book and in Book 5 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Carla Simpson | Conversations in Character with Lady Antonia Montgomery
Author Guest / June 1, 2023

Book Title:   A DEADLY GAME – Angus Brodie and Mikaela Forsythe Murder Mystery Book 3 Character Name:  Lady Antonia Montgomery   How would you describe your family or your childhood?  My family first arrived in England with William the Conqueror, far older than the Queen’s.  He was quite a bounder according to family stories, ruthless, and took over the entire place.  My own childhood was – shall we say somewhat unusual.  I was an only child and allowed a great deal of freedom, raised by my father.   What was your greatest talent?  I speak four languages, quite expert with a saber, but I digress. It would undoubtedly have to be my ability to see through people, their machinations.  I don’t have much time left and I won’t be bothered.   Significant other?  That is rather personal don’t you think?  However, if I were to be honest, there have been a few, but none who would let me live my life as I chose.   Biggest challenge in relationships? I refuse to have them.   Where do you live?  At present I live at Sussex Square in London.  I do spend time in the north of Scotland at Old Lodge…

Book Title:  MEMORY AND DESIRE Character Name:  Zach Tennant   How would you describe your family or your childhood? I lost my father when I was very young and have no memory of him;  I was raised by the woman he was with at the time;  My childhood?  It was a lonely existence, always searching for what my family should have been; raised at Resolute, the station in Australia. What was your greatest talent? My greatest talent is escaping from trouble, the British out on the high seas, and in London. Significant other? I had no significant other, until her; she stepped out of the past, out of a dream, and I knew she was mine. Biggest challenge in relationships? Before her, I never stayed for long; any encounter was simply that, an encounter.  I never wanted anything more, because of her, because of the past that was taken from us. Where do you live? Resolute Station, Australia, is the place I call home, when I’m not aboard the Revenge, my ship, or in some foreign port trading cargo. Do you have any enemies? Others would say that, as the Raven, I have many.  I would say that I have…
