Maud Price, a once-famous medium, finds her spirit guide missing and her reputation on the verge of ruin. At the urging of a colleague, she requests the help of Clementine Watkins – known for her discretion and skills in conjuring the dead. Maud’s comeback rests on those skills. But can she stomach the theatrics – and whispers of murder – that come with it? 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I set the book in the fictional town of Harrowboro, New Hampshire, where I also set THE COMPANION and AFTER ALICE FELL. Each book is set in a different decade: 1855, 1865 and now, 1877, so it’s fun to add on additional elements and modernities as the town grows. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
