Sara Rosett | Murder in St. Moritz
Author Guest / January 15, 2024

1–What is the title of your latest release? MURDER IN THE ALPS 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? 1920s lady sleuth to the high society set, Olive, travels to St. Moritz for a holiday, but when a death occurs, she suspects murder. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I wanted to write about one of the posh travel destinations of the 1920. I love the mountains, and there aren’t a lot of books set in the Alps in the winter in my genre, so I decided St. Moritz would be a perfect fit. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes! I’d love to join Olive for tea at the Savoy. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Plucky, independent, and determined. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned a lot about the history of winter sports, including downhill skiing, which was a new thing in the 1920s. Tobogganing and cross-country skiing were well-known winter sports. Skiing down the slopes was just gaining in popularity. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? I edit pretty heavily as I write,…

Sara Rosett | 20 Questions: MURDER AT THE MANSIONS
Author Guest / February 7, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? Murder at the Mansions   2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? A block of flats in 1920s London has all the modern conveniences . . . including murder. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? The main character, Olive, has just moved into a service flat in London—think Whitehaven Mansions in the Poirot television show, and you’ll have a good idea of what I pictured as her new home. I read up on service flats and decided it would be a great setting for Olive’s next adventure. I’d written several country house mysteries in the series. Why not a mystery set in her new flat? The setting brought together a mix of characters with secrets and interesting backstories. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Yes! I can see us going to tea at Harrods then Olive could give me a tour of London. 5–What are three words that describe your hero? Determined, optimistic, energetic 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I discovered all sorts of interesting things about service flats and well as trains. Olive has to chase…

Sara Rosett | Tales of a Reluctant Mover
Author Guest / March 31, 2011

I’ve moved a lot. I’ve moved so many times that I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve moved. I know it’s over fifteen times, which is rather ironic because I spent most of the first twenty years of my life in the same city. Then I married a man in the Air Force and life hasn’t been quite so settled. Ironically, I’m not a person who craves change and new things. I prefer to be in familiar surroundings. With each military move, I went reluctantly, but once the boxes were unpacked and we settled into our new life, I grew to like the new place—well, that’s a true statement for most of the places we’ve lived. There were a few locales I couldn’t wait to leave—and that’s the good thing about being a military spouse, if you don’t like the assignment, you know you’ll be moving on soon. As painful as the frequent relocations were for me, they also provided a rich background for my mystery series. I grew up in Texas and, despite what you might think, I did see snow. Great wind-blown drifts of it would pile up next to our garage when huge snowstorms swept down…
