What is the title of your latest release?
ON THE EDGE OF TRUST, A Logan Point Novel
What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
A decorated but wounded FBI undercover agent is drawn into an investigation with a true crime podcaster to clear her nephew of a murder charge. As the investigation intensifies, they find threats targeted at themselves. They’ll have to combine their skills and rely on their growing relationship to outsmart the killer.
How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I always wanted to write a follow-up of Scott Sinclair’s story in Shadows of the Past that was set in Logan Point, Mississippi. Scott was the teenage alcoholic and at the end of Shadows of the Past, he’d made a change. It’s not ten years later and he’s an undercover FBI agent who was wounded in the line of duty and is rehabbing in Logan Point.
Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
Definitely! And since I have two, I’ll answer for both: He can play chess…and he has a great sense of humor. And Tori would keep the conversation going—she’s an extrovert who loves people.
What are three words that describe your protagonist?
For Scott Sinclair: dedicated, fearless, wounded; for Tori Alexander: honest, determined, stubborn
What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I learned that not everyone convicted of a crime is guilty—sometimes they are innocent as they claim.
Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
Yes. Lol. I first lay down my suspense line, edit that and then go back a layer in the romance and spiritual threads. I’ve found it’s easier to kill off a character than to get them together.
What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Bread…specifically homemade sour dough bread.
Describe your writing space/office!
This may take a while since I write all over my house and out on my deck. Most mornings I start outside on my deck until heat runs me inside to either my office or a recliner in my great room.
Who is an author you admire?
So many…Charles Martin, Elizabeth Goddard, Steven James, Lynette Eason…
Is there a book that changed your life?
Reading through the Bible each year for the past 20 years has really changed my outlook on life, but if I had to pick fictional book, I would choose Kristen Heitzmann’s Free Fall. It showed me that Christian fiction could be everything that general fiction is, but better. Free Fall is why I write Christian fiction.
Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
It wasn’t a call at all, but an email offering me a contract. I was in a Walmart parking lot when I saw it, and I just sat there, stunned and not sure I believed what
What’s your favorite genre to read?
romantic suspense/thriller
What’s your favorite movie?
The Phantom of the Opera…or maybe The Sixth Sense because I didn’t see the ending coming. My sister did, though…
What is your favorite season?
Any season that isn’t cold.
How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
No fuss, a quiet dinner, and I’ve threatened friends that I will put them in a book and kill them off if they have the staff come sing Happy Birthday to me.
What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
TV show: Matlock. Kathy Bates makes that show; movie: rarely watch one; book: Charles Martin’s The Water Keeper, podcast—for me as a true crime junkie, Serial.
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Fried catfish, hush puppies and onion rings. Not sure what cuisine you would call it though.
What do you do when you have free time?
Wait a minute and let me stop laughing—I don’t have free time…but if I did, I would glaze and fire the mugs and vases that have been sitting on my kiln for the past six years. Then I would throw clay on my wheel and make more pieces.
What can readers expect from you next?
I’m working on a romantic suspense set at the Elephant Sanctuary just off the Natchez Trace Parkway in the Northern District not far from Nashville.
ON THE EDGE OF TRUST by Patricia Bradley
Logan Point

When decorated FBI undercover agent Scott Sinclair suffers a gunshot wound in his right arm, the injury threatens his future career in the field. He is determined to regain his former job by training himself to use his left hand, and failure is not an option–especially when he’s unofficially pulled into an investigation.
Tori Alexander is a passionate crime reporter and podcaster who has dedicated her life to seeking justice. Her relentless pursuit of the truth has freed two men from prison who were falsely convicted, and when her nephew is accused of murder, nothing can stop her from getting involved and clearing his name.
Sparks ignite when Tori reconnects with Scott on the case, but she’s doubtful if she can extend grace and trust. As the investigation intensifies, they find threats targeted at themselves. They’ll have to combine their skills and rely on their growing relationship to outsmart the killer.
