Lynne Marshall Reaches a Milestone!
News / July 27, 2018

At Romance Writers of America national conference in July, I received my twenty-five-book milestone from Harlequin. Before and at the annual party, I was treated like a VIP and given a darling Harlequin pin with a tiny ruby in it. I have already written twenty-seven books for Harlequin, with three more contracted, which will eventually bring me to thirty. As a late bloomer, I didn’t start writing until I had, what I call, a classic “late” midlife crisis. I suddenly had to write a book! I never dreamed I’d get published, and it took me five years to do so, and twelve more years to make it here, so this milestone was a big deal for me. Which book was my milestone book? Forever A Father, the first book in the Delaneys of Sandpiper Beach Trilogy for Harlequin Special Edition. Here’s a picture of me just before I went into the VIP lounge for some extra special pampering.

Elizabeth Heiter | Don’t forget to chase your dreams!
Author Guest , Suspense / June 21, 2018

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a writer. As a child, before I could write words myself, I used to tell my mom stories and then ask her to do the same for me.  I liked everything about fiction, whether it came from books or off the cuff from someone’s imagination. As I got older, I loved how stories could transport me away from challenges, how they could inform and inspire.  By the time I finished high school, I’d co-written my first completed novel with a friend who’s my critique partner to this day. After college, the journey toward publication began.  And it was quite a journey. There was so much I didn’t know at the beginning about the business side.  Back then, my goal was simple: write a book I loved and then find a literary agent who could sell it to a publishing house. Of course, the goal was easier said than done.  I joined a writer’s organization, which helped me learn how to write stronger query letters – pitches to try and get someone interested in my book.  Eventually, I found an agent and we started shopping my novel. But by then,…

(Contemporary Romance, Independently Published) The Theory of Happily Ever After by Kristin Billerbeck — According to Dr. Maggie Maguire, happiness is serious–serious science, that is. But science can’t always account for life’s anomalies, like why her fiancé dumped her for a silk-scarf acrobat and how the breakup sent Maggie spiraling into an extended ice cream-fueled chick flick binge. Concerned that she might never pull herself out of this nosedive, Maggie’s friends book her as a speaker on a “New Year, New You” cruise in the Gulf of Mexico. Maggie wonders if she’s qualified to teach others about happiness when she can’t muster up any for herself. But when a handsome stranger on board insists that smart women can’t ever be happy, Maggie sets out to prove him wrong. Along the way she may discover that happiness has far less to do with the head than with the heart. Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Spring – Let’s Eat!
News / April 2, 2018

You may think Easter sweet treats are all about those chocolate eggs that you hide around the house for the kids to find (or not). But in our family, it’s about Noodle Pudding! This is no mashugana. And it’s notkugel! It’s noodle! Have you heard? I’m famous! Well, sort of. I’m the Queen Of Noodle Pudding. In my family that is. Fame in any form is fun. My fame only continues as long as I keep making the noodle pudding. Every Holiday, including Easter, I am tasked with bringing the noodle pudding. And this year is no exception. So, with the help of my sous chef Tom, who is also my sweet-treat husband, we set to work. I’m calling him the King of Noodle Pudding from now on. We’ll share the crown. Now, don’t get confused. Mine is one of those familiar dairy dishes with cream cheese, sour cream and lots of butter, but NO raisins. I hate raisins. My Aunt Miriam made her noodle pudding with raisins, and that’s where my love for noodle pudding ended. That is until my old friend Sheila gave me the best noodle pudding recipe EVER! It’s easy to make. Easy as pudding! Enjoy!…

Gail Ingis | Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
News / February 23, 2018

You know that frustration you feel when your computer is behaving badly but you’re so in love, you can’t bear to break up with it? Turns out that relationships, including the ones we have with our computers, are very complicated. That’s how I’m feeling right now about my Mac. It’s a MacBook Air and I’ve had it for about 8 years which is like 70 human years. Computer years are even tougher than dog years. If my computer was a PC, I would have been through two more by now, but not with Mac. So, while I’m still trying to hang onto my “best” computer companion, I’ve reached out to Apple Tech Support and any geek/nerd I can find. One of my problems is that my MacBook is not “going to sleep” when I want it to. Which makes it really tough to get updates. Yup, you heard me, Mac will not go to bed! I have to hold down that little button on the top right until it finally goes to sleep. Then after I count ten seconds, I push that button down again, Mac turns on, but not before it flashes a notice at me, The computer shut down because of…

Gail Ingis | Celebrate Every Day Like It’S Your Birthday
News / January 21, 2018

Happy Birthday Tom! Tom is three-quarters of a century old today. WOW! Happy Birthday to my sweetie. Birthdays belong to the owner and are always a time to celebrate. They are a memorial of the past year and a celebration of the coming one. A chance to look to the future. If you could change your birthday, would you? I can’t think of anything I’d change. I’m 82 years old and I still look forward to my birthday. At my age every day is a celebration of life. If I could pick one of the four seasons – winter, spring, summer, fall – I would keep my fall birthday, with its lapis blue skies and leaves of orange and gold. In our family, we have oodles of birthdays to celebrate, with five adult children and their spouses and twelve grandchildren and two granddaughters-in-law. From the time they were old enough to go out with Tom and me, each grandchild always had a special day of going out to eat, shop, play, or however they wanted to celebrate. The great Little Pub Let them eat cake! From Alina’s Cakes. Your birthday is the best day of the year. You own that…
