What is the title of your latest release?
KISS SLAY REPLAY
What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Time loop horror at a wedding. Every wedding guest’s worst nightmare on repeat!
How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I wanted the slasher vibes of a summer camp, but also a picture-perfect wedding venue. So, the book takes place at a former summer camp that is now a stunning wedding venue.
Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
Oh, for sure! Willa might be going through it, but she’s good company.
What are three words that describe your hero?
Self-aware, witty, and resilient.
What’s something you learned while writing this book?
That courage isn’t conquering the horrors, courage is the commitment to trying (over and over and over again).
Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I’m a Type A Virgo, if I stopped to edit as I drafted, I’d never finish anything! I need to wait until I’m done.
What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
I love a crazy latte. Like a seventeen-dollar, beautiful, ridiculous latte is the epitome of luxury to me. If it’s basically a milkshake, I’m in.
Describe your writing space/office!
I have a desk in my bedroom, but I usually bounce around to different spots. Wherever the energy is good, and there aren’t too many distractions.
Who is an author you admire?
Paul Tremblay.
Is there a book that changed your life?
THE COLLECTED STORIES by Amy Hempel, a gift from my best friend & fellow author Courtney Preiss seventeen years ago. It changed how I approached writing.
Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published). Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I was at my corporate bank job. I stepped out to take the call, and immediately afterward I called my husband, and my parents, and my friends. A life-changing moment…and then I went to go fix a paper jam.
What’s your favorite genre to read?
Horror
What’s your favorite movie?
JAWS
What is your favorite season?
Fall
How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
With friends and cake!
What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
Widow’s Bay on Apple Plus is an absolute delight! The Vast of Night on Prime is a beautiful, simple but effective film perfect for fans of the Twilight Zone. BODY COUNT by Codie Crowley is the perfect summer slasher beach read. She Wore Black and Books in the Freezer are two of my favorite podcasts, definitely check them out!
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Honestly, I don’t have a refined palate. Take me to The Cheesecake Factory.
What do you do when you have free time?
Either travel somewhere kitschy, or couch rot.
What can readers expect from you next?
My eighth novel is about a medium who really, realllllyyyy does not want to be a medium.
KISS SLAY REPLAY by Rachel Harrison

Every wedding guest’s worst nightmare is on repeat in this wild and twisty new horror novel from the New York Times bestselling author of So Thirsty and Play Nice.
It’s the picture-perfect wedding weekend: The venue is dreamy, the weather is beautiful, love is in the air—and Willa Sullivan is having a bad time. She’s excited to celebrate her best friends’ finally having the big wedding they’ve always wanted, but this is the first time she’s seen her ex-fiancé in months, and he brought a date. Everything feels off, like she stumbled into an alternate universe. But things start to look up when Willa meets Danny, the groom’s charming and single childhood best friend. When they sneak off together, their rendezvous is interrupted by a masked killer terrorizing the reception. Willa and Danny fight to save the ones they love and survive the night, but the killer is unrelenting. A final girl Willa is not.
Or is she? She wakes up and it’s the morning of the wedding. She just had the most intense nightmare of her life. Only as the day unfolds, there are some uncanny coincidences that make her question whether it was really a dream, déjà vu, or something more sinister. After a horrifying turn of events, Willa comes to understand that she’s stuck in a loop of carnage and terror that she must learn how to escape or else suffer a fate worse than death—being an eternal wedding guest.
