I created the first military romantic suspense in March 1989 with the publishing of CAPTIVE OF FATE, Silhouette Special Edition (SSE). Since I’d served in the US Navy in the 1960’s, and was a meteorologist (AG3), I wanted to write about what I knew and loved. As a vet, I wanted to have a “niche” romance like many other types already had one, but none were focused on military people and veterans and their stories. With the above book, so many military families and vets loved it, and the military romantic suspense niche was born. Being in the Romance Industry for forty-one years now, I had wanted to write a lot more books than any publisher could keep up with my creative speed. To date, I have roughly 225 fiction books published, 95% of them through the known New York City publishers, and 5% from my own small publishing company, Blue Turtle Publishing. I have twenty-three military romantic suspense books in print/ebook in my DELOS SERIES. Now, in 2023, I have now created my next one: SHADOW TEAM SERIES, a gritty, fast-moving military romantic suspense, has just been published. So far, I’m in the process of writing seven books for…

What is the title of your latest release? THE PERFUMIST OF PARIS What’s the elevator pitch for your new book? Paris, 1974. Radha, Lakshmi’s rebellious younger sister from The Henna Artist, is now 32 and living in Paris with her husband and two daughters. With Lakshmi’s help, she’s on the cusp of realizing her career ambition as a master perfumer when she finds out the son she never told her husband about is heading to Paris to find her, upending her carefully managed world and vulnerable marriage. How did you decide where your story was going to take place? My character decided it. In the first book of the Jaipur Trilogy, I had written the future stories of each major character. Radha decided to elope with a Frenchman who was trekking through the Himalayan foothills where she was a boarding school student. They married in Paris, where Radha found her way into the elegant world of fragrance—a natural for Radha—who used to mix the finest henna paste for her sister Lakshmi. Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes. I would find her take on perfume fascinating. What are three words that describe…
1–What is the title of your latest release? MADNESS THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS – Book 2 in the Looking Glass series. 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Down the rabbit hole and back out through the looking glass with a magickal Royal Scepter and a fairy tale to sell. What if little Alice’s story was true? What if ‘Wonderland’ with all those enchanting characters was a real place? Alice’s descendant found out the hard way in book 1 …however, the story has only begun … 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I built my vision of ‘wonderland’ on how it I saw it in my head. It exists in a parallel dimension – you only have to find a portal, some of which are right there in plain sight. Of course, you have to know where to look—or look with your inner child’s eyes. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Absolutely! To have a bestie like Ally who’s the descendant of the original Alice, who knows where ‘wonderland’ is and how to get there? Fabulous! 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Ally surprised me in so…
1–What is the title of your latest release? WHAT THE HEX 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Perky apprentice takes on grumpy warlock. It’s a boss romance with a grumpy/sunshine, witchy twist. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? After GO HEX YOURSELF, Penny and Willem obviously needed their story told. I had to do it! 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Absolutely. Penny would be the best sort to hang out with. She’d have the menu memorized at the restaurant, be there 15 minutes early to snag the best seats and keep the conversation rolling. 5–What are three words that describe your hero? Starchy, Snobby, and Ginger 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? The Romans had a lot of fertility deities. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? I wait until I’m done! 8–What’s your favorite foodie indulgence? Iced coffee. Does that count? 9–Describe your writing space/office! A mess. It’s always a mess. 10–Who is an author you admire? I am and will always remain a Kresley Cole fangirl. 11–Is there a book that changed your life? The first one…
Book Title: AN ARTFUL LIE Character Name: Aidan Nowlton How would you describe your family or your childhood? My father, the late Bertram Nowlton, was the Duke of Malmsby. The Nowltons are a family of multi-talented individuals. I had four older siblings. I was an afterthought, ten years younger than my sister Catherine. As a young boy I would follow them and try to do what they did. They asked me to help them sometimes and I enjoyed that. It wasn’t long until helping the family instead of doing something unique for myself became my life. What was your greatest talent? You could say I am the black sheep in the family as I never had a talent. I helped my siblings with their talent endeavors, but never had a recognized talent. Where do you live? London, just outside of Mayfair. I have a townhouse with an Art Gallery on the ground floor. Do you have any enemies? No, though I don’t get along with Lord William Candelstone, my sister Catherine’s husband. He is a spymaster whose mantra is “For King and Country.” What do you do for a living? I own an Art Gallery. Greatest disappointment? Courting Bella….
1–What is the title of your latest release? ANA MARIA AND THE FOX 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? A forbidden love between a Mexican heiress and a shrewd British politician makes for a tantalizing Victorian season. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? While researching immigration records, I came across those of Mexicans emigrating to the Europe, which sparked my interest, and I began researching historical events that would necessitate such a move. And then I remembered the French occupation of Mexico! From there, the idea for the Luna Sisters series was kindled, and I knew that the first book would start with the three sisters disembarking from the ship that carried them from their home in French occupied Mexico to safety in London. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Absolutely! Ana María is charming and kind and is curious about the world around her. I would love to be her bestie! 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Dutiful, protective, curious 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned so much! I knew general information about the French occupation of Mexico but not the…
1–What is the title of your latest release? CORONATION YEAR 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Come stay at the historic Blue Lion hotel for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 – and help to foil disaster while you’re there! 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I knew right away that it would be set in London, but where exactly? Since I wanted my characters to watch the coronation procession pass by, I decided it would be a hotel. And since the exact hotel I imagined never existed, I created the Blue Lion. If you go to the place I describe in the book you’ll find a very nice public house, but no hotel. Sorry! 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Absolutely! Edie is exactly the sort of person I’d like to have as a friend. And she serves a really delicious afternoon tea at her hotel. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Lonely. Hopeful. Brave. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? So many tiny details about the history of coronations. My kids have already refused to watch the king’s coronation in…
Who doesn’t love an old castle, rife with secrets and lore and mystery? Of course, most readers tend to imagine Scotland or England when incorporating a good castle, but what about Midwestern Wisconsin? Believe it or not, Wisconsin boasts a castle or two, and they’re not necessarily White Castle, the home of the hamburger sliders. It was with this (the castle, not the hamburgers) that I decided to write a dual-time Gothic mystery surrounding a castle, vanishing women over decades, with heroines who are determined to find the lost and save their tragedies from being unremembered. Of course, taking inspiration from history is always a must and therefore as the author I entered the realm of study, focusing on one of the worst female serial killers known to humankind. Elizabeth Báthory, Hungarian countess, is most widely known as the woman whose fascination with the torture and bloodletting of young women took the lives of possibly hundreds in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. With this purported fascination, reports funneled in of not only the disappearance of local girls in the surrounding areas but also of women from the more notable families. This inspired an investigation that landed Elizabeth in…
Exclusive Excerpt of NEVERMORE BOOKSTORE: The set-up: For stubbornly optimistic small-town bookstore owner Cady Bloomquist, her weekly phone calls with Fox are the perfect opportunity to escape a body that frequently makes life difficult for her, and a life whose challenges are stacked against her. Despite her attempts to convince herself that their conversations are best kept strictly business, she finds herself straying ever closer to pleasure. Fox is a mountain man survivalist who no longer has use for the civilized world. When he’s alone in the wilderness, he relies on books to keep him tethered to his humanity. In order to obtain the books, he places an order with a local bookshop every week. What began as a customer/seller relationship quickly bloomed into something more as the connection to the woman on the other end of the line became undeniable. Now, he’s developed impossible feelings for a woman he’s never even laid eyes on before. Here is where one of their conversations lead: EXERPT: “Can I ask you something?” The tone of her voice pierced his warm haze with doubt. Running a hand over his still-drying hair, he tugged with frustration at his uncharacteristic lack of control…
