BOOK TITLE:  ROCK BOTTOM ROMANCE by Diane Holiday

CHARACTER NAME: Zach Stone

How would you describe your family or your childhood?

Things were a bit chaotic, growing up with two brothers. We drove our parents crazy with all the pranks we pulled on each other. Despite that, I grew up in a loving environment with parents who taught us manners and to treat others as we would want to be treated.

What was your greatest talent?

Climbing trees. My family owned a park on an island and I spent a lot of time racing my brothers to climb the fastest and highest. I won…a lot!

Significant other?

I don’t have one right now. There’s some crazy chemistry going on between me and this spoiled Hollywood star who is filming a camping reality show on the island, but trust me, she’s the last person I’d ever consider.

Biggest challenge in relationships?

I don’t get into them. I have too much baggage and would never expect anyone to deal with it.

Where do you live?

I live in South Carolina. I have a small house on the island near the campgrounds that I run.

Do you have enemies?

No.

How do you feel about the place where you are now? Is there something you are particularly attached to, or particularly repelled by, in this place?

I love the island. I’m attached to the wildlife. There are so many species of birds and fish. I feel connected to all of nature here. I am repelled by fire ants. They are a hazard, and I have to stay on top of controlling them to keep the campers safe.

Do you have children, pets, both, or neither?

I do not have children or pets, but I am surrounded by animals, so in some ways I do. The cat I grew up with is still at my mom’s. It has two different colored eyes, and she adores it. I help her out by taking it to the vet and picking up medications. I’ll do anything to make Mom happy.

What do you do for a living?

I used to be in the army, but now I run the campgrounds on the island. My family owns the park.

Greatest disappointment?

Not being able to save my friend when on a mission overseas.

Greatest source of joy?

Spending time here in nature. I love the scent of pine and the sound of fish jumping. This is my safe haven. My special place.

What do you do to entertain yourself or have fun?

I like to fish, swim, and hike. There’s so much to see and do. I spend as little time as I can indoors.

What is your strongest trait?

Being organized and following safety rules.

What keeps you awake at night?

Nightmares of my time overseas.

What is the most pressing problem you have at the moment?

The family business is in financial trouble. We need money for repairs and have signed on this ridiculous reality show. The star is driving my up the wall, breaking all my rules, and causing chaos at my campgrounds. I want her done and gone. Dealing with her is my biggest problem right now.

What is something you don’t like to talk about?

Well, if I answer that, I’d be talking about it wouldn’t I?

Who is your hero?

My father. He was also in the army for a while. He had a strict moral code and high expectations of us. When we were young, my brothers and I smeared mud on our faces and chased each other with squirt guns, trying to be like him. Mom wasn’t a big fan of that game. My dad was an honest man who worked hard. He built this island park piece by piece to make it what it is today. I’ll do everything in my power to honor him and keep his legacy going.

Rock Bottom Romance

All she has to do is survive two months, revive her career, and get back her life.Zach Stone has nothing in common with the pampered diva, who shows up and brings chaos to his camp. He wants her gone and has a scheme to make her high-tail it back to California. As Crystal and Zach spend more time together, each grasps that the other isn’t what they thought. Crystal realizes Zach hides a soft side under his gruff exterior. He’s nothing like her pretentious Hollywood boyfriends. Before she knows it, she’s questioning how much she really wants to go back to her fake world. And Zach sees that she’s spunky, determined, and has deeper layers beneath her glamorous façade.
