How did you organize all of this?
It’s taken well over a year of preparation and diligent planning to get everything set up for the Busty Bodice Club – an eight-book series coming in April ’26. The covers, the theme, the authors…it was all diligently planned. I wanted the set to be bright, bold, and beautiful. And I wanted truly curvy women on the covers.
After being part of several sets, I did my best to make it easy for authors to say yes and jump in. I wanted to have everything well organized and communication clear and consistent.
So I’ve taken tips from other sets I’ve been in and incorporated them into this one.
What motivated you to pick the themes that you did?
I currently write under two pen names, Lana Piers and Eliana Piers. Lana Piers writes contemporary romance and I see a lot of body positive representation in that genre, but in historical romance (with Eliana Piers) I’ve only seen one other series that has promoted curvy heroines. I’m sure there are more out there, but I’ve only seen one. I wanted to do a multi-author project to bring more attention to curvy FMCs. Hence the start of the Busty Bodice Club.
The body positive message is important to me. Women’s bodies undergo drastic changes over a lifetime. It’s almost like once you have a hold on your current state, it changes; thus throwing you into a new loop of what to expect and how to prepare for it. It’s important to be grateful to my body for all it’s done for me. Even when it feels like it’s failed me, it’s gotten me this far. It’s overcome many challenges, many obstacles, many hurdles. And it’s been dead tired doing it sometimes. But it’s a beautiful body because it’s helped me build the life that I love.
Process & Collaboration
Did you provide guidelines around body positivity and representation, or did each author bring their own vision?
Each author is going to bring their own vision to the Busty Bodice Club. I think it’s important that multiple voices are heard. Authors can choose to write an FMC who’s confident in how she looks or who has a lot of insecurities that she needs to work though. And that’s just one attribute each author will decide on for themselves. We want each book to have a different voice while the series has a united voice with the message that sexy is a state of mind, an energy, or a vibe, not a body type.
What was the most rewarding part of organizing a multi-author project like this?
So far, the most rewarding part of organizing this project has been working with some extremely talented women.
We’ve had a few meetings together to discuss the Busty Bodice Club where we’ve shared tears and laughter in gut-wrenching honesty, and what stood out to me the most was that these women want to build each other up. There’s true compassion and kindness on this team as well as a genuine desire to see each other succeed. I’m in awe of this team.
Frankly, I can’t believe how incredible these authors are. The experience they have, the insight, the humor, and the honesty is truly inspiring. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to run this set.
What do you see this series providing that most series don’t?
To be honest though, there are two things that are going to set this series apart from others:
• The combination of theme and setting: FMC in steamy historical romance
• The authors involved in this project
We have eight authors with vastly different backgrounds but all with incredible experience. We have some authors like Cathy Maxwell who have been writing in historical romance for thirty years.
We’ve got a bunch of authors who are traditionally published and a bunch who are indie published.
We have New York Times bestselling authors and USA Today bestselling authors. We’ve got award winning authors and international bestselling authors. So the team that’s involved in this set is incredible: Eliana Piers, Cathy Maxwell, Tracy Sumner, Annabelle Anders, Kerrigan Byrne, Robyn DeHart, Kathleen Ayers, and Janna MacGregor.
All of these women have one thing in common: a passion for writing steamy regency romance. And now we’re going to focus all our energies into the Busty Bodice Club.
Themes & Characters
Can you share a favorite moment or character that particularly embodies body positivity in the collection?
We don’t have all the books written yet, but we do have the prequel done. I don’t want to give away too much, but I have definitely busted a gut while reading this. How it all starts with the FMC in disguise and then the MMCs reaction to it all…truly priceless.
Impact & Audience
What do you hope readers will take away from this set?
I hope readers will walk away from this set with two main things:
• Confidence
• A smile
Honestly, I would love for readers to read each feel-good book and have a renewed sense of self-worth. Women struggle with body image as well as the value they place on themselves, and I would love for the Busty Bodice Club series to be a place of reassurance and inspiration.
Have you had any early feedback from readers that’s been especially meaningful?
So far readers are really excited about the authors in the set, the theme of the set, and the overall energy of the Busty Bodice Club.
Readers keep asking when the preorders will be and when they can get access to all the covers in one place. There’s a real fire for this series already.
It’s true: historical romance is thick and thriving!
Future & Vision
Do you see this project leading to future sets or spin-offs?
I love this question! Before we wrote one word together, we had opened the door for future possibilities.
Some of the current authors are already talking about future plans. If this set is well-received, we will definitely consider writing more for the future. I would absolutely LOVE for the Busty Bodice Club to grow.
