LONE STAR CHRISTMAS, out October 16th: Jackie Bergmann is determined to complete her late mother’s twenty-year-old mission of restoring the town’s historic buildings—but she needs permission from the property owner, her ex Max Delgado, who agrees to give her access, but he has one request: that she help him care for his orphaned brothers.
If you could meet one of your characters in real life, who would you choose and what would you do?
Adrian De La Cruz from TEXAS DADDY. He’s a former bull rider, and his girl is an adventure guide, so we would hit the white water rapids in the Grand Canyon then return to the rim by helicopter to watch the sunset as we eat dinner. And while we’re at it, let’s throw in a full body massage.
What gets your creative juices flowing when you’re brainstorming a new story?
Pencil, paper, and a Sexy Librarian candle. If that doesn’t work, I call the best brainstorming team, and we sit by the water to plot and plan new stories.
Which part of Readers & ‘ritas are you most excited about?
I love being around other people who fall in love with fictional characters. Nothing is better than getting to talk about books as real places and people.
We’re all romantics here, so we need to know—what is your all-time favorite love story?
I love the classic tortured hero. A good Beauty and the Beast story gets me every time.
