Kristy Woodson Harvey | Women must rely on their powerful family bonds

September 15, 2026

What is the title of your latest release?
FALLING FOR PEACHTREE BLUFF

What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Each of the Murphy women come home to Peachtree Bluff facing a new problem to solve together. But when a scandal that would affect every Peachtree citizen comes to light–and it looks like Ansley’s husband Jack might be at the center of it–the women must rely on their powerful family bonds and the small-town charm of the place that always calls them home.

How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
It’s the fifth book in my Peachtree Bluff Series, and it’s just one of my favorite towns I’ve ever, ever written! It would be so fun to go back to!

Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
This book stars three grown sisters and their mother, and I would hang out with them all the time!

What are three words that describe your hero?
Self-deprecating, sincere, handsome

What’s something you learned while writing this book?
How fun it is to write about fall! This is my fourteenth novel, and I’ve never really leaned into fall that much, which is funny because I love fall! The leaves, the football, the boots, the hay bales. It’s all so fun!

Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I wait until I am totally finished! I don’t even reread until I have a full draft usually.

What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
A really great dessert, preferably chocolate!

Describe your writing space/office!
We live in a 1903 house, and we added on and, when we did, added an office for me–but it looks like it has always been a part of the house! It has reclaimed floors, floor to ceiling doors that lead out to a balcony, and the walls are lined in built-in bookshelves with lucite shelves, so the books look like they are floating. And my husband got me a stunning marble desk that I absolutely swoon over for my 30th birthday. It’s just a bright, light, happy space! I love working in it every day!

Who is an author you admire?
Oh gosh. So many of them! I’m going to say Mary Kay Andrews because she has been in this business a very long time, but she treats every book and launch like it’s her first. She’s one of the hardest working authors I know, and I really admire how dedicated she is to her readers.

Is there a book that changed your life?
Yes! A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN was the book that taught me the power of story to connect us to people and places we would never know. I read it for the first time when I was ten and still re-read it every few years.

Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published). Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
Oh my gosh. It was the best! I had just gotten back from walking my son to preschool and had come inside the house when my agent called. I was so overjoyed he told me I wasn’t making sense and he would call me later! So funny. But it was a dream come true to say the least.

What’s your favorite genre to read?
Women’s fiction.

What’s your favorite movie?
Father of the Bride. (The Steve Martin one.)

What is your favorite season?
Summer, summer, summer!

How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Well… since it is summer, my favorite season, I like to start the day doing a workout class with my friends, which is maybe weird, but also fun and we all feel accomplished before we’re lazy! Then lunch by the water, some time on the beach, and a fun party! I’m a big birthday person, and I have a group of friends that always makes sure all our birthdays are celebrated royally!

What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
MEET ME IN PARIS by Kristin Harmel!

What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
I love Mexican food!

What do you do when you have free time?
I like to play tennis, and I love to read and just hang out with my family and friends. We live in a coastal town, so any time I can be on the beach or a boat, I’m happy!

What can readers expect from you next?
Well… I can’t tell you anything about my next book, except that it will be a 2027 release, probably fall. But I can tell you that I just finished working on the script for A Happier Life with MGM/Amazon, and am so excited about that! And I have several other fun TV and movie things in the works that I can’t wait to announce!

Peachtree Bluff #5

peach

Welcome to Peachtree Bluff: a sweet, cozy small town where family is everything. The “go-to for elevated beach reads,” (People), Kristy Woodson Harvey, returns just in time for pumpkin spice season.

The air is crisper, the water is calmer, but, when it comes to the Murphy family, nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems.

Youngest sister Emerson is busy planning her dream wedding to Kyle. But her difficulty expanding her family is overshadowing her joy. Pregnant middle sister Sloane and her husband Adam’s dream house has turned into a nightmare. Everything is over time, over budget, and Sloane is over it. Eldest sister Caroline, as always, is there to swoop in and get her sisters’ lives under control. Until her focus is more than a little shifted by Emerson’s hunky costar who manages to sweep her right off her feet—just as her not-quite-ex-husband decides it’s high time he begged Caroline for a second chance.

Matriarch Ansley and her new husband Jack have finally hit their stride. But when a scandal that would affect every single Peachtree Bluff citizen comes to light—and it seems like Jack just might be at the center of it—Ansley questions whether he is actually the man she thought he was.

Through it all, these women must rely on their powerful family bonds, and the quirky characters and small-town charm of the place that, no matter what, always calls them home.
