Misty Simon | Cozies with a little sauciness

September 8, 2025

Fall is just around the corner, so I thought this month we’d look at some cozies with a little sauciness to keep you warm!

I like to call my books RomCozies because they definitely deliver on the promise of justice, community, and the fun of figuring out the puzzle of whodunnit, but they also involve a romance that sparks on the page. So here are a few to check out and you grab a cup of cider and snuggle into the cooler weather coming our way!

PASTRIES, PODCAST & MURDER (Sweet Tooth Sleuth Book 1) by Elizabeth Perry
This book totally cracked me up! I love the humor, the pacing, the interactions with the characters, and the way the whole thing wrapped up in a tight bow. But make sure you’ve done all your chores before you get started because you might not get up until the very last page.

A book that is a little older but super fun is DYING FOR A DATE: (A Humorous Cozy Mystery) (Laurel McKay Mysteries Book 1) by Cindy Sample
Super funny, incredibly engaging, and I couldn’t put it down! I love the flippancy and the way it’s packed with characters are a little over the top but I’d still want to be friends. And the romance is just getting started!

To finish it out, we have the delightful HOME SWEET HOMICIDE (Hometown Mysteries Book 5) by Rosalie Spielman
This one already cooking but it was so much fun to read that I had to add it to the list. I love to see Tessa do her thing with the help of her friends and companions as well as that lovely Nick! Buckle up, though, because you’re going to be in for a bumpy ride as they navigate all manner of bridal things while also trying to solve the whodunnit.

That’s it from here! Happy almost Fall, my favorite season! Stay warm, keep up the good fun, and read that next book that will make you forget the pot is boiling on the stove!

About Misty Simon

Misty Simon

Misty Simon always wanted to be a storyteller – preferably behind a Muppet. Animal was number one, followed closely by Sherlock Hemlock. Since that dream didn’t come true, she began writing stories to share her world with readers, one laugh at a time.

Touching people’s hearts and funny bones are two of her favorite things, and she hopes everyone at least snickers in the right places when reading her books. She lives with her husband in Central Pennsylvania where she is hard at work on her next novel or three. She loves to hear from readers so drop her a line via email.
