Debbie Johnson | Author-Reader Match: THE MOMENT I MET YOU
Author Guest / March 25, 2022

Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match” where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It’s our great pleasure to present Debbie Johnson! Writes: I write books about the kinds of women you’d want to be friends with – the apparently ordinary ones who are actually incredibly special! We all know women like that, right? In fact maybe you even are one! I’m always fascinated by the ups and downs of life, how we overcome adversity, by our resilience, by the strength we find even when we think we’re running on empty. Broadly speaking, you could say I write love stories – but not just love stories in the traditional sense, I have a lot of fun exploring female friendships, the ways we find our own communities, the families we were born with and the families we build for ourselves. About: I’m a mother of three kids, one of whom is technically an adult, and the dog-mama of my two best friends (they have four legs and are covered in fur). I am both outgoing and quiet, depending on my mood – life and soul…

Lori Foster Interview – Heroes With Hidden Depths and Book Chat for Romance Nerds
Interviews / March 25, 2022

In RILEY, your heroine Regina is threatened by some unknown creep. In some romantic suspense books I’ve read, the author gives the perspective of the unknown villain, in addition to the hero and heroine’s. Do you do that in your book? In most of them, yes. RILEY was written as a category romances ages ago, and back then, we were only allowed two perspectives. Once I left category, I had more freedom, and I love exploring the “bad guys” in depth. Additionally, sometimes the bad guys aren’t so bad. Sometimes they redeem themselves, or they soften – and occasionally those changes happen without my input. I’m very much guided by my characters. The way I create a story is that I sit down and start writing and the characters do what they want. shrug So far, it’s worked for me, thank goodness. When things happen, I’m often as surprised as the reader.   Is it difficult maintaining the tension or threat of danger throughout the book? Do you try to evenly balance the action and suspense with the romance and one or two lighter moments? Again, honestly, I don’t know how any of it works. I don’t deliberately set up…

Amanda Elliot | 20 Questions: SADIE ON A PLATE
Author Guest / March 15, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? My new book is called SADIE ON A PLATE.   2–What is it about? Sadie’s at her lowest point both professionally and personally after being fired from her job as a chef by her ex-boyfriend/boss (yep, bad decision). So when she gets the chance to compete on popular reality cooking show Chef Supreme, she hopes it’ll be just the boost she and her career need. Mazey Eddings | 20 Questions: A BRUSH WITH LOVE
Author Guest / March 11, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? A BRUSH WITH LOVE 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Two dental students trade fillings for feelings as they navigate first love, being “just friends,” meddling found family, and finding what they really want out of life while also working through the hard parts of mental illness and grief. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I wrote ABWL during my first year of dental school. While in the program, your world becomes really small (and tooth-shaped) to the point that you’re thinking about school or exams or hanging with other dental students talking about school or exams… it’s as tedious as it sounds. Harper and Dan, my main characters who are in dental school, popped into my head one day and wouldn’t shut up! It was fun to watch their friendship and romance unfold in a setting I’d never seen in a romance novel before. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Oh heck yes. I love Harper Hannah Horowitz with my whole heart. She’s funny and determined and would do anything for the people she loves. She’d also probably push…

Carla de Guzman | Exclusive Excerpt: A MATCH MADE IN LIPA
Author Guest , Excerpt / March 8, 2022

Excerpted from A Match Made in Lipa. Copyright © Carla de Guzman. All rights reserved. Published by Carina Press.   Anton quickly spotted the cold goods refrigerator and walked toward it. He had discovered very early on in his trip what he wanted out of a Japanese convenience store, and very rarely strayed from what he knew. Onigiri triangles and milk tea. Maybe a beer if he was feeling extra melancholic, but not yet. He spotted the onigiri triangles. There was only one tuna mayo left. Santi reached out to take it, only to have another hand shoot forward and grab it, leaving him with nothing but air. “Sumimasen,” he said gruffly, wondering if he was pronouncing that right. “That’s—” “My onigiri? Yes it is.” The English sounded familiar, making Anton turn his head to face his opponent. Which was how he saw Kira Luz again after twenty years. And wow. She was beautiful. Still beautiful, actually, with those dark, upturned eyes that hadn’t changed since she was ten. They were eyes that could see everything, see through him without much difficulty. It was the same face he used to know, just older. Changed. Santi used to be told a…
