Author Guest / March 21, 2024

1–What is the title of your latest release? A KINGDOM OF SOULS AND SHADOWS, Fae Destiny Book 1 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? All her life, Eala Duir, a young college professor, has skirted the edges of a fantasy world. When a cryptic message in her grandmother’s will sends her to Ireland, a handsome stranger with mysterious ties to the Fae realm swears she’s been sent to help him fulfill a centuries-old fairy bargain. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I’ve always been a fan of Irish folk and fairy tales and loved to imagine what I would do if ever confronted with a faerie bargain. It seemed perfect to set my story in Ireland, the home of those fantastic stories, where my FMC faces just such a predicament. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes, Eala and I would totally get one another. We share the experience of being university educators and a deep love for Celtic and Irish history and myth. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Loyal – Practical – Inquisitive 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned about…

Leslie O’Sullivan | Conversations in Character with Elodie Pettipas
Author Guest / November 28, 2023

Book Title: NOT TO SCALE Character Name: Elodie Pettipas   How would you describe your family or your childhood? I had an unconventional childhood, growing up on a movie ranch in Wyoming where my mother moved us to live out her romantic cowboy fantasies. I was mentored by an art director on a series that shot there annually. It’s thanks to him I started on my career path in film/TV production design.   What was your greatest talent? I have a passion for bringing history to life onscreen. Research is my jam. My version of time travel is visually resurrecting the past through my designs.   Significant other?   No one serious in the past, but I’ve got a lot of hope that Bobby Provost, the showrunner of The Chieftain’s Son, and I may have a shot at something important.   Biggest challenge in relationships? It may be cliché, but trust with a capital T. I’m tentative to let someone close to the inner me. I live with the daily challenges of bipolar disorder. It’s not a truth I readily share because in the past, I’ve had potential romantic partners make unwanted generalizations about my mental illness. I look forward…

Leslie O’Sullivan | Conversations in Character with Beast aka Beatrice Sharpe
Author Guest / August 10, 2023

Book Title: CRIMSON MELODIES, Book Four of Rockin’ Fairy Tales Character Name: Beast aka Beatrice Sharpe   How would you describe your family or your childhood? I once considered the members of our band, B&B+3, as my family before I was cursed. Now, my closest friends are a quartet of legendary Hollywood ghosts with attitudes and flair.   What was your greatest talent? Before the nasty enchantress, Tressa Divine, slapped the curse on me, as Beatrice, I’d won awards for my song lyrics, and was a decent singer. Even though my talons get in the way, I’m still able to write, but the singing – nope, not with these beastly, harpy vocal cords.   Significant other? My heart will always belong to Benedict Boyd, the lead singer/songwriter of B&B+3.   Where do you live? I’m banished to the top floor library and rooftop of an iconic haunted Hollywood hotel.   Do you have any enemies? The fiends, calling themselves Dark Vinyl Artists, who I’d love to sink my talons into, are my captors and tormentors.   How do you feel about the place where you are now? Is there something you are particularly attached to, or particularly repelled by, in…

Leslie O’Sullivan | Exclusive Excerpt: WILD AZURE WAVES
Excerpt / January 5, 2023

Azure doesn’t show. I toss my shoes and shirt onto the tufts of grass at the edge of the sand, and wade knee deep into the surf to cool the burn of being stood up. I splash water on my sweaty face. Did I make too much of my flirt with Azure? I dunk my head into the lagoon and shake the water off the three braids trailing down my back. I did feel a connection with Azure. Maybe not as strong as the pull toward the woman who yanked me out of the sea, but it was there. I’ve got to stop thinking about the night of the storm. Curse my bud, Juan Luna, and his philosophies about my rescuer being a soulmate, a heart’s fate. My hand rests over the tattoo of a full moon on the right side of my chest. The nondescript silhouette of my mythical heart’s fate, a dream girl, covers the left side, the heart side. A trail of stars rains down between the images. When a member of our artist’s commune turns eighteen, Juan Luna’s grandpa offers to gift them with a unique ink design. No one picks their tattoo. We trust the…

Leslie O’Sullivan | 20 Questions: HOT SET
Author Guest / September 8, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? HOT SET, Book 1 in the “Behind the Scenes” contemporary romance series 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? When Gilly Bettencourt, a U.S. catalog copywriter, lands a writing gig on an OUTLANDER-esque TV drama that films in Ireland, she must keep her relationship with its star Jack O’Leary, the most-Googled man on the planet, a secret to preserve his public status as an available heartthrob. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? There’s a wee part of me that’s Irish. When I finally had the joy to visit Ireland, I fell in love with the beauty of the land and the wonderful Irish people. I visited the O’Sullivan family castles in Cork. Fixer-uppers, to be sure, but it was super cool to see where the ancestors came from. I even “borrowed” the name of Donal Cam, the lead in book’s fictional TV show,“The Chieftain’s Son,” from an ancestor.  It’s a special thrill to connect with your roots. I can’t think of a more perfect place for an American girl to go find the love of her life. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in…
