1–What is the title of your latest release?
MAGIC CORRUPTS, MAGIC CONQUERS
2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
Pennrae stopped the event that removed magic from the world from ever happening and returns to a new timeline where she’s lauded as a hero. But her actions have also awakened an eldritch entity who has a specific purpose to fulfill…one that will put Penn and everyone she loves in mortal danger if she doesn’t stop it.
3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
Magic Dark, Magic Divine is set in NYC, but after the events of that book, the timeline is reset and Magic Corrupts, Magic Conquers takes place in a more unique setting that still has echoes of the past. It was a lot of fun to essentially start from the ground up and rebuild the world the story takes place in.
4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
Absolutely, I think hanging with Penn would be fun. She can teach me how to fight.
5–What are three words that describe your hero?
Strong, witty, perceptive
6–What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I learned about my writing process with this book because it was a very challenging project for a very long time. I definitely came to a better understanding about my worldbuilding and lore and how to carve away at plot points until I have only what I need.
7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit a bit as I go, I always re-read sections after I finish a writing session and there are always new ideas that come to me as I write or things that change, so I’ll go back and add or change things as needed. But the heavy lifting with editing comes when it’s all done.
8–What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
Too many to count! I have a sweet tooth so give me sugary stuff any day.
9–Describe your writing space/office!
I write either at my desk or on the couch with my laptop.

11–Is there a book that changed your life?
I can’t pinpoint a book that I can say “changed my life” but I always carry a fondness for certain books I read as a childlike The Secret Garden.
12–Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)
I found out via email I’d be getting to publish two books with Entangled and that is best kind of email one could get.
13–What’s your favorite genre to read?
Fantasy
14–What’s your favorite movie?
I don’t have one, to be honest. I enjoy movies but don’t necessarily have an overall favorite.
15–What is your favorite season?
Spring. It’s got the best temperatures.
16–How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Low key, I don’t need to do anything extravagant. As long as I have some cake, I’m happy.
17–What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
I recently read and enjoyed The Davenports by Krystal Marquis
18–What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Caribbean
19–What do you do when you have free time?
Read, draw, paint, watch anime, play video games.
20–What can readers expect from you next?
In May I will be publishing the first book in a new urban fantasy series, The Vanish Witch. And later this year I will be re-publishing the first book in my Reanimation Files series: Affairs of the Dead.
