Vampyre girl, Alpha Were, arranged marriage!
3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I was in the process of moving to the southwest of the US, and I decided to set the book in the southwest of the US. It just felt right!
4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
I doubt Misery would want to hang out with me (or anyone else except like, three people).
5–What are three words that describe your protagonist?
Loyal, sneaky, single-minded.
6–What’s something you learned while writing this book?
That wolves can only have just a couple of eye colors.
7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I edit forward, so I don’t go back to edit something that I’ve decided to change while I’m drafting, but I write the rest of the book while keeping that change in mind. (A tip I picked up from the amazing Jesse Sutanto, btw).
8–What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
I’ve been obsessed with Nutella Biscuits lately.
9–Describe your writing space/office!
It’s currently a mess, because it doubles as my crafting space, and I’ve been working on a flower wall. So… full of Styrofoam and drippings from the hot glue gun…
10–Who is an author you admire?
Nikki Payne – I am obsessed with everything she writes.
11–Is there a book that changed your life?
There is a fanfiction that changed my life—The Place Between!
12–Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published)/Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I think it was an email from my agent? I remember being excited for about 45 seconds and then immediately switching to panic that no one would like my book (it’s how my brain works…)
13–What’s your favorite genre to read?
Lately it’s mostly thrillers (and fanfiction).
14–What’s your favorite movie?
A tie between P&P 2005, Arrival, Promising Young Woman, and The Last Jedi.
15–What is your favorite season?
Summer.
16–How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
By ignoring it!
17–What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal! It’s a YA books about vampires and found family and it’s PERFECT!
18–What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Turkish.
19–What do you do when you have free time?
Usually I desperately try to finish what I should have gotten done during my work time.
20–What can readers expect from you next?
My next contemporary romance, NOT IN LOVE, will be out in Summer 2024.
