What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?
To survive a shipwreck, a sunshine princess is forced to escape a magical island with the grumpy pirate who hates her.
How did you decide where your book was going to take place?
I knew Tait and Mira were going to be shipwrecked in the Far Seas, but it was so fun developing more of the world.
Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?
She would force me. Mira is the extrovert and I’d be the awkward introvert friend she forces out of the house.
What are three words that describe your hero?
broody, complicated, sexy
What’s something you learned while writing this book?
I learned how to write a deeply complex traumatic past and what I hope is a wholesome love story that doesn’t magically wash it all away, but provides a safety net for the hard days.
Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?
I do edit as I draft. I try not to, but I can’t help but adjust as I go. If something is off or feels wrong, I literally can’t move on until it’s fixed.
What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?
I just love chocolate. I’m not really a foodie. I am a tea drinker, so I do love different tea flavors.
Describe your writing space/office!
I have an outdoor office that is built to resemble a witchy cottage and I love it.
Who is an author you admire?
I admire Holly Black. I think her writing is whimsical and so immersive. And she seems so cool
Is there a book that changed your life?
I don’t have an exact book, but reading has changed my life. Books were my friends since childhood. I always valued the escapism even as a kid. They truly became a portal to a new reality when I needed them.
Tell us about when you got “the call.” (when you found out your book was going to be published). Or, for indie authors, when you decided to self-publish.
I was indie first, so I decided to indie publish a book I’d been writing for three years in 2016. It changed my life.

Dark romance

I have a few: Count of Monte Cristo, Princess Bride, and Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler version)
What is your favorite season?
Fall
How do you like to celebrate your birthday?
Oh, I honestly love to be left to my own devices. I love to go out to dinner, but give me a day to do whatever I want, read whatever I want, and have a relaxed night in…that’s ideal.
What’s a recent tv show/movie/book/podcast you highly recommend?
I adored the Arcane show. I know, I’m late to the party.
What’s your favorite type of cuisine?
Italian
What do you do when you have free time?
I love walking or reading or baking bread
What can readers expect from you next?
I am releasing a new Dystopian Romance called BLOOD IN THE INK in June 2027 and Ever Seas book 5 will release in late 2027 as well.
