Book Title: CATRIONA
Character Name: Coll Barr
How would you describe your family or your childhood?
An outsider might view my childhood as idyllic, parents who had been childhood sweethearts, living on a cattle farm, a comfortable, tidy home, and a mother who cooked every meal. To my sister, Aileen, and me, it bent more toward disappointing—but only the parts our parents touched. They handed out disapproval like other parents doled out hugs and kisses. We learned from a young age to only count on ourselves for love and support . . . and Thomas MacGregor, our neighbor and best friend.
What was your greatest talent?
Tracking people who think it’s a good idea to break the law. Even though I’ve been all over the world for jobs, my favorite way to trace someone is through the digital imprints they leave behind. I’m a beast on a computer.
Significant other?
I fell in love with my best friend’s little sister when she was only nineteen. If I admitted that, the consequences would be severe.
Biggest challenge in relationships?
The biggest challenge is trusting myself.
Where do you live?
Bunchrew, Scotland. It’s a small village outside Inverness.
Do you have any enemies?
My answer used to be no. Not anymore. After I retired from the Royal Scottish Marines, I accepted a job in security. Our company is hired to protect people and businesses. I was anonymous—a virus on your computer or an ear listening on your phone. There were times that I did have to physically track. Once, it took me to the South American jungles to gather intel on a drug cartel. I should have remained invisible . . . unnamed, but I was betrayed, and then I was hunted . . . and so was my family.
What do you do for a living?
I help create and run security teams at MacGregor Security.
Greatest disappointment?
I have trouble picking just one. First, I let my parents’ indifference and judgmental ways hurt my sister. Then, I let my best friend clean up a mess that wasn’t his to tend. The worst, though, the absolute worst, was that I made a bad decision on a job that gained the notice of a psychopath.
Greatest source of joy?
Catriona MacGregor’s smile.
What do you do to entertain yourself or have fun?
I enjoy building websites or tinkering around my family’s cattle farm, making repairs. What entertains me the most? Aggravating Catriona and watching her fiery temper explode. It’s so easy.
What is your greatest personal failing, in your view?
Oh, definitely sharing my feelings. It can be very lonely when the people who love you the most don’t know you’re struggling.
What keeps you awake at night?
If I do open up about my fears to the woman I love, will she see me as less of a man?
What is the most pressing problem you have at the moment?
Every day, I wonder if admitting I’m attracted to Catriona will destroy my relationship with my oldest friend—and whether it’s a gamble worth taking.
CATRIONA by Anne Gregor

Irish Wolves World
Catriona missed the days when wilting gardenias and the unrequited love of her brother’s best friend were the worst of her problems. That all changed when she had to add attempted kidnapping and being hit by a car to her résumé of woes.
Catriona MacGregor may look like a wee redheaded Scottish fairy, but a precious pixie she was not. At only twenty-two, it felt like life was passing her by. She did two things with absolute dedication– moon over a man who still saw her as a little kid and work. Forget socializing outside the family. She did feel satisfaction in owning her own nursery and running it with an iron-green thumb, but bad things kept happening to her, and even her brother, Thomas MacGregor, who ran a security firm, couldn’t keep her safe.
Coll Barr was in trouble, and it began and ended with his best friend’s much younger sister. Catriona had been a thorn in his side for years – and the star in every one of his dirty dreams for the past two. He lost one of his legs in Peru while on a job and only recently came out of his self-inflicted solitude. Now that Coll was close to Cat again, his life became all about evasive tactics until he found out that a dangerous criminal from his past was seeking revenge against him and possibly his family. Evasion quickly changed to close quarters. Now, he had to worry about an outside and an inside threat because if Thomas MacGregor ever found out Coll had feelings for Cat…
Catriona is the final book in the Scottish Lions (unless Mirren MacGregor puts enough pressure on Anne Gregor for her own story).
