1–What is the title of your latest release? LEGACY OF ATONEMENT 2—What’s the elevator pitch for your new book? In the spring of 1959, a seemingly minor mistake in a wire transfer at a Swiss bank leads to the discovery of a plot by the CIA to launch a nuclear attack on the leaders of the USSR and China to install Hitler, who is still alive and hiding in South America, as the leader of Western Europe. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? It had to begin in Switzerland, and specifically Geneva, on account of it having the most established and sophisticated secret banking facilities at that time. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes, but he was so obsessed with business, which cost him his marriage, and the quest on which my book focuses, that I doubt mere hanging out would interest him unless there was a legitimate reason to justify spending time together. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Energetic, loyal and fearless. 6—What’s something you learned while writing this book? To persevere and not to give up despite constant edits…

Book Title: MARION LANE AND THE RAVEN’S REVENGE Character Name: Marion Lane How would you describe your family or your childhood? I grew up in a small flat in post war London. My father died when I was very young, so I never really knew him, and instead lived alone with my mother, Alice. Mother did her best for us, but times were tough and the realities of life as a single parent soon became too much for her. She took her own life when I was just sixteen, which left me under the care of my overbearing grandmother, Dolores. And while I was grateful for her support and love, I found her difficult to tolerate. We had such vastly different outlooks on life. She wanted me to settle down and marry, to find happiness as a wife and mother. I wanted just the opposite: to be independent, to find work, and a purpose, and to find myself. Thankfully, at the age of 23, I was offered the position of apprentice Inquirer at the top-secret underground detective agency, Miss Brickett’s Investigations and Inquiries. That changed my life forever. What was your greatest talent? Fixing things, I suppose. Gadgets,…

Book Title: WITH EVERY MEMORY Character Name: Xander Dixon Who are you? No doubt you were expecting one of the Mendenhalls, right? This story is really about them. They’ve been a bit busy ever since the, uh, accident. That’s why I’m here. But who I am probably depends on which member of the Mendenhall family you ask. Mr. Mendenhall – Michael – would say I’m the kid who eats through all the food in their pantry. Not that I can help it. Mrs. M. – I mean, Lori Mendenhall buys those animal crackers that are dipped in frosting and sprinkles because she knows they’re my favorite. She’s a cool mom. At least she used to be. Honestly, I’m not sure she remembers who I am now. As far as Avery Mendenhall goes? I’m her twin brother’s annoying best friend. Don’t listen to a word she says about me. Wait. Has she said anything about me? Nevermind. I don’t care. And you can’t ask Austin, can you? He’s gone. What else do you want to know? Where do you live? In the foothills of the Rockies, between Denver and Boulder. The Mendenhalls used to live in my neighborhood. That’s…
This alley wasn’t straight, and it was darker than usual, despite the hour. Tall, cramped buildings were squashed in next to each other, creating a crooked path. The buildings leaned over the narrow passage, crowding out the light as if they were jealously guarding the darkness. CeeCee took a wary step in and was hit by a rank wave of smell. She gagged and staggered back. Garbage was scattered as far as she could see—rags, rotting food, rusty appliances—before a jutting wall cut off her line of sight, twisting the alley in another direction. The walls were smeared with refuse and who knew what else, thick enough that giant mushrooms as big as her head were growing out of them. They looked slimy and pale in the dim light. It was disgusting, but the twins had said this was the direction to find the Queen. She wasn’t sure if the Queen was an actual ruler of the alleys or just another weird character, but she was taking all the tips she could get from now on. In her experience, people who threw parties usually had some influence or at least knew a lot of people. It was strange how friendly…
Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match” where we introduce you to authors as a reader you may fall in love with. It’s our great pleasure to present Tasha Madison! Writes: I write historical fiction and young adult magical realism novels, like THE PEN THIEF AND THE DIVISION OF DESTINY, which tells the legend that has long been foretold of the child of the prophecy whose destiny it is to find a mystical rune in the forest. But, when a troubled past reveals an ancient secret, fates intertwine in a battle kindled from the gluttonous desires of mankind. A dark allegiance, sworn to steal the enchanted relics of the world for itself, threatens to upset the delicate balance between past and present. As the war on magic rages on, unexpected encounters level the fight for strength, power, purpose, and truth. But, can the guardians of magic prevail before they are scattered to disastrous fates? THE PEN THIEF AND THE DIVISION OF DESTINY is book three in The Pen Thief series, following The Pen Thief and the Orbit of Uncertainty (book one) and The Pen Thief and the Chamber of Power (book…
1–What is the title of your latest release? ALWAYS ISN’T FOREVER 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Soul mates are parted by an untimely death and against all universal rules and odds must find a way back to each other, but how much can a heart break before it shatters? 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? The very first scene I saw in my mind was two young lovers on a sailboat at night so I knew this book would be set near the sea. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes, yes, a million times yes. Hart has a sweet innocence that makes you want to hug him, and his positive attitude is highly contagious. And Ruby? Let’s just say that I aspire to her adventurous spirit! 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Hart: tenacious, generous, devoted. Ruby: adventurous, fearless, determined 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? That grief comes in all shapes and sizes. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? I edit as I go along and then dive into a deeper edit once the…
Book Title: CASSANDRA IN REVERSE Character Name: Cassandra Penelope Dankworth A list! Yay! I love lists. How would you describe your family or your childhood? Dead, predominantly. Or gone. It’s pretty much just me now. As for my childhood… I don’t like to talk about it. I was an… unusual child. That’s all you need to know. What is your greatest talent? Probably my ability to travel backwards through time, just by closing my eyes. It’s quite a new talent, and I’m still trying to work out what to do with it. I can’t travel very far, unfortunately. The universe appears to have limited my abilities so I can’t do too much damage: like putting stabilizer wheels on my bike. Oh, and I have an epic collection of vintage clothes, including a set of Day of the Week, color-coordinated jumpsuits. Which time travel is, frankly, playing absolute havoc with. Significant other? Will Baker, my ex-boyfriend and hopefully my future one too. He dumped me very recently, so I’m using my time travel abilities to go back and work out what went wrong in our relationship, and make sure it doesn’t happen again. It’s nowhere near…
1–What is the title of your latest release? THE GOOD ONES 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? The Good Ones is about a woman named Nicola Bennett who moves back to her Appalachian hometown to sell her childhood home after her mother’s death. Fifteen years earlier, Nicola’s childhood friend Lauren Ballard disappeared suddenly, leaving behind a husband and young daughter. Nicola gets pulled back into relationships from her past and then begins to uncover the secrets behind Lauren’s disappearance. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? There was never really a question about it. I grew up in a small town in Virginia, and then ended up moving to a different small town in Virginia after many years in the Midwest and on the West Coast. Even though I wasn’t living in my hometown, being back in the area where I’d grown up made me think a lot about how I and the people I’d known back then had changed, and that was one of the things I wanted to explore in the book. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes, I could definitely see us being friends. 5–What…
