Olivia Blacke | Music, Macchiatos, and Mystery
Author Guest / January 2, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? VINYL RESTING PLACE   2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Vinyl Resting Place blends murder, music, and macchiatos in a delightful cozy mystery. When Juni Jessup returns to her small Texas hometown, she and her sisters put all their beans in one basket to open Sip & Spin Records, the ideal place to enjoy musically-themed coffees like Espresso Yourself while listening to great music and town gossip, until – record scratch! – a body deader than disco falls out of the supply closet during the grand opening. Family is everything to the Jessup sisters, so when their off-beat uncle is arrested, they’ll do anything to help, including putting Sip & Spin Records up for collateral. Unable to face the music, Uncle Calvin takes off, leaving the future of the shop in peril. Can Juni and her sisters catch the real killer before the trail – and the coffee – goes cold?   3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? Like Juni, some of my fondest memories involved my grandparent’s family-owned shop in a small Texas town. When I was thinking about a series that revolved…

Anna Bradley | Grumpy Earl + Fierce Governess = Fireworks
Author Guest / December 21, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? FELL IN LOVE WITH AN EARL 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Grumpy, wounded earl meets fierce governess heroine, add kittens and mischievous twin boys, hijinks, and romance ensues! 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? Well, this is the third book of the Games Earls Play series, and in the previous book I’d already settled Helena, the heroine in a small village near her sister’s country estate. For both books I wanted a country setting not too far from London, so I settled on Oxfordshire. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Absolutely! She’s incredibly kind but fierce, plus she loves cats! What’s not to like? 5–What are three words that describe your hero? Grumpy (at first), protective, loving. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? This book reminded me of something I learned long ago, but sometimes forget, and that’s to try not to make assumptions about people, because we never truly know what they might be going through. Adrian doesn’t appear to advantage at first, but it’s grief that makes him difficult, not arrogance. 7–Do you edit as…

Sophie Pembroke | Iceland, Romance, and Second Chances
Author Guest / December 20, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? THEIR ICELANDIC MARRIAGE REUNION, Book 1 of my Dream Destinations Duet. 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Hollywood’s ex-fairytale couple Winter and Josh are reunited in the land of ice and fire – and need to discover if the heat between them is enough to melt their hearts once more. And if they’re willing to risk a reunion – and the potential for more heartbreak – in front of the world’s media… 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? My editor and I were discussing ideas for a new book, and she mentioned she’d love to see some more armchair travel… but I didn’t want to take my characters to any of the usual places! I’d visited Iceland in my twenties and found it such a fascinating place, I thought it would be brilliant to go back – even if only through fiction. I loved looking through my old photos and diaries to get a feel for the place – and researching some places I never made it to but wish I had! 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Absolutely! Winter…

Karen Whiddon | A Mysterious Man with No Memory
Author Guest / December 20, 2022

I just love Alaska and have often wished I could live there.  I’ve been writing a lot of books set in Texas, and Alaska is about as far away in the United States that I could get. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Yes!  Not only is she brilliant, but compassionate.  She has a big heart and I like her. 5–What are three words that describe your hero? Handsome, mysterious, and sexy.  Plus, he can cook! 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I researched remote Alaskan villages and that was fascinating. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?…

Lydia Drake | Pride and Prejudice meets Cinderella
Author Guest / December 19, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? CINDERELLA AND THE DUKE 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?  Pride and Prejudice meets Cinderella with a Regency twist! 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place?  I’ve always loved historical romances, in particular the Regency period. I guess it’s the Jane Austen fangirl in me. I liked the idea of doing a historical fairy tale retelling, and I especially liked the idea of doing Cinderella. The London Season had plenty of opportunities for lavish balls and parties, and it was definitely more common for a young woman be financially dependent on a wicked stepmother in the 1800s than it would be now. It just seemed like a good fit. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?  Absolutely! Julia’s a funny and outgoing person, and she’s loyal to the people she loves. I’d have to be a little on my guard, though. She has a bit of a temper if she thinks people are jerking her around. 5–What are three words that describe your hero? Funny, Passionate, Wounded 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book?  When I was researching wedding dresses, I…

Susan M. Boyer | Island Breezes, Southern Belles, and Murder
Author Guest / December 19, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? LOWCOUNTRY GETAWAY 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? When Nate Andrews whisks the entire Talbot clan off for a holiday adventure in the U.S. Virgin Islands, he has no idea his mother-in-law and her new friends will become embroiled in a case involving adultery, junk cars, money laundering, and murder. Liz and Nate scramble to find a killer before three sweet Southern belles wind up in a tropical prison. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? St. John is my favorite vacation spot, so it’s also Liz Talbot’s. I’ve thought about setting a book there for a while. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Liz Talbot is my avatar, or maybe in some ways she’s who I’d like to be. I live vicariously through her, so I guess I’d say we hang out every day. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Fierce, loyal, kind, flawed…okay, yes, that’s four words. Liz is flawed like all the rest of us. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? There are ruins in St. John that date all the way back to…

Sabine Barclay | Exclusive Excerpt: BRATVA ANGEL
Author Guest , Excerpt / December 19, 2022

Excerpt from BRATVA ANGEL by Sabine Barclay       “You are.” He growls. “F*ck. I can’t last any longer, baby girl.” “Good. I want to know you want me that much.” “I want you more than I should. You’re a drug, Heather. I’d sell my soul for another hit, another chance to be inside you.” “But drugs destroy. That’s not what I want.” “Fine. A multivitamin. I know I’m better when I’m with you.” I can’t help but laugh. My core contracts, and he thrusts hard before going still. He rests his forehead against mine. I cup his jaw. “I have never been called a multivitamin before. That might be one of the weirdest and most romantic things I’ve ever heard.” I sigh as we kiss once more. Part of it is from satisfaction and post-coital bliss. But part of it is regret because I can’t linger. “How late do you think your sister will be out?” “She and Mike’ll probably be back by ten. Danielle isn’t a night owl and never has been. Sleeping Beauty likes her rest. I can’t blame her since she’s home with Cadence all day. He’s exhausting.” I consider what Danielle and Mike would…

The Character Most Likely – Allie Pleiter
Author Guest / December 16, 2022

Most Likely to take a chance? Definitely Seb Costa, the camp chef, and our hero. He’s a risky guy, almost to the point of being reckless. But the man has a heart of gold, even when he tries to hide it under all that “cool” exterior. Most likely to do the unexpected? This one goes to the sweet little girl of the story, Kimmy. She has a child’s pure innocence and gets right to the heart of the matter. Every time Seb and Kate try to keep things casual and easy, Kimmy is there to knock them off balance. Most likely to be there for friends and family? Mason Avery, the owner of Camp True North Springs, is as loyal as they come. He will do whatever it takes to help the camp families on their journey of healing from grief. If you’re facing any kind of challenge, you’d want Mason Avery on your side. Most likely to surprise themselves? Mason’s new fiancée Dana, who came up with the whole idea for Camp True North Springs, continues to discover new capabilities and possibilities for herself.  She was strong and brave in her law enforcement career before, but now she’s an…
