As he considered the possibility her eyes suddenly flashed open, filled with drowsiness as they connected with his. She blinked, uncertain, confused before those incredible violet eyes lost their laser focus and she was simply staring in his direction.

“Tracker?” She sat up slowly, the sheet sliding away from the thin, silky looking white sleep shirt she wore.

On strap fell over a delicate shoulder and he swore he could see the shadow of pretty pink nipples beneath the material.

“Morning princess,” he murmured, striding to the side of the bed. “Sleep good?”

He toed his short boots from his feet.

“I…I guess.” She pushed her fingers through her hair. “Why are you here?”

“For this.” Before she could do more than gasp, he pushed the sheet quickly from her, noticing the shortie shorts she wore, the slender legs, curvy thighs, just before he came over her and pushed her to her back once again.

In the back of his mind, he knew she should be screaming, scared. She’d fight him, struggle, cry out and bring those damned twins running to the rescue.

At least, that was how he’d assumed she’d handle his actions.

Instead, she stilled, laying beneath him as he straddled her body and secured her arms over her head.

Like a tempting little sacrifice.

But he could see the defiance in her eyes, the flush of pending anger on her cheeks. She wasn’t submitting, she was just biding her time and letting him know, albeit silently, that she wasn’t scared of him.

He didn’t know anyone that wasn’t at least wary of him, and those were full grown, fighting aged men. Women were always scared of him, drawn to him, like a moth to a flame, but always riding that edge of fear.

“You and I are going to have to discuss your actions at some point, Tracker,” she would have sounded fierce if it weren’t for the sleepiness that still lingered in her voice. “You’re beginning to act as though you have rights you simply haven’t been given”

Rights he hadn’t been given?

That sweet body beneath him was silently giving him rights that he had a feeling she was yet unaware of.

“I heard an interesting little rumor a few minutes again,” he drawled, lowering his head until his lips were brushing against hers, his gaze narrowed on her eyes. “And I have to admit, it left me a tad bit overset, princess. My delicate feelings might not recover.”

The mockery, the sneer in his tone must have been missed because rather than trepidation, her expression flickered with amusement.

“Overset were you?” Her lips were plump, tantalizing as she spoke against the curve of his. “Delicate feelings that may not recover? My Tracker, I have to admit, I didn’t see you as the type to hang your feelings on your sleeve like a pretty little Christmas ornament.”

Oh, she was pushing.

“Oh, you might be surprised,” he dropped his voice to a warning

growl. “Be good now, and tell me why you think you’re leaving with Irk and Jerk August later today?”

Her eyes widened and the soft, fun filled laugh that escaped her lips was damned charming. “Irk and Jerk? Tracker, they hear you call them that and they’ll kill you.”

“I doubt it,” he snorted then nipped her lips just sharp enough to still the laughter and cause her eyes to darken as her breathing began to escalate. “Now pay attention baby, I’d hate to have to spank you over that sharp little tongue of yours.”

Her reaction wasn’t one he expected. A flush rushed over cheeks, her eyes turning drowsy, lips parting to drag in air.

“Should I call you daddy then?” she whispered, her tone just slightly sarcastic, and he was surprised at the interest he saw in her expression. Not to mention the interest that surged through his senses.

Damn her. She was pushing a boundary he wasn’t certain she was brave enough to cross, despite her bravado.

Anchoring her wrists with one hand, he moved the other until his fingers curled around her neck, holding her in place, watching the pure feminine heat as it seemed to race through her.

She had no idea what she was allowing, what she was asking for. His dominant tendencies, driving sexuality and dark hungers were rarely given such a sweet innocent to snack on.

She was teasing, playing, and he was getting ready to show her the animal she was playing with.
