Fresh FIction Box Not To Miss

Melynda Price | Forbidden Romance…

August 12, 2019

Hello Fresh Fiction fans!

I’m thrilled to be here today celebrating my latest release The Nanny Rules!

Tropes come and go, but there are a few favorites that are timeless. Who doesn’t love a hot and steamy forbidden romance? In one way or another, aren’t we all guilty of wanting what we can’t have? This makes our characters relatable and real, and readers desperately hungry to turn the next page. Romance feeds our soul and the forbidden sparks that secret desire inside of us to be just a little bit naughty.

Rules. . . We all live by them–societal and self-imposed. But sometimes we’re the greatest obstacle standing in the way of our happiness?

Screw the rules. . .

The Nanny Rules delves into the challenges of wanting what we can’t have while letting go of the past and learning to love again. This was one of my bucket-list books and I’m so excited to finally see it come to fruition. I’m an avid reader of category romance and over the years I’ve read and enjoyed many Brazen titles. I was super excited when my agent contacted me about an opportunity to write a book for the Brazen line. I gravitate toward the forbidden romance trope and have wanted to write a nanny/daddy story for a while now, so this was a great opportunity to tell Brody and Amelia’s story.

Every book has its challenges and for me, it’s the research. Some authors love this part, but I think it feels like homework. When I wrote Vow of Silence, I knew nothing about the Amish community and spent countless hours delving into their culture. For The Nanny Rules, I knew nothing about football. I thought a tight-end was a compliment for a hot football player, lol. Okay, maybe it wasn’t that bad, but I had a lot to learn about the NFL. Thank you to all my football friends and family who patiently answered my questions and explained the game to me.

Now for the easy part…the heat. My favorite part of writing any book is building combustible chemistry between my characters. If I don’t make your heart pound and your palms sweat, I haven’t done my job. I want my readers to experience everything my characters think and feel, and to know them intimately. Entangled Brazen was the perfect platform for me to do this.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out The Nanny Rules!

THE NANNY RULES by Melynda Price

The Nanny Rules

Don’t touch the nanny. It’s one rule I’m most certainly going to break.

Since becoming a single father, I have two things that keep me sane–my daughter Lily and playing football for the NFL. But when my meddling sister hires a nanny without my knowledge, I’m not thrilled to come home and find the woman has taken over my house. Our instant attraction is one more complication I don’t need in my life.

But my daughter loves Amelia, and I will do anything for that tiny munchkin. Even if it means walking around with blue balls most of the time. Why does the nanny have to be so sweet–and drop-dead gorgeous? She’s driving me crazy. Never in my life have I wanted a woman more.

I just need to make it through this season. I can do that. Hands-free, of course. But then there’s that moment, and I know she’s thinking what I’m thinking and, well, yeah. Screw the rules. . .
