As part of our countdown to Readers & ‘ritas 2018, our Meet the Author interviews help you get to know the authors joining us in Texas on November 9-11. Read on to get acquainted with Bridget Blackwood, and purchase your ticket to meet her in person at Readers & ‘ritas! Pitch us your newest book in one sentence. Be sure to include the book title. The World in Shadows series offers a variety of paranormal characters with the story always told from the non-human perspective. If you could meet one of your characters in real life, who would you choose and what would you do? I would want to meet Varian Caina. He’s my resident mad, bad vamp. We would go get high tea at the fanciest place you can (I’d have to ask Sara Reyes). No one would dare bother to tell us we could have seconds of anything, especially the desserts. What gets your creative juices flowing when you’re brainstorming a new story? When I am brainstorming, I need music. More often than not, I am not brainstorming at all, but listening to music in the car when ideas hit. Most inconvenient. Which part of Readers & ‘ritas…

LOST IN PARADISE is a paranormal ocean adventure tale with high stakes, hot nights, and love blooming in the tropics that overshadows any treasure. What book made you fall in love with the genre(s) you write? NIGHT PLEASURES by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I can remember the smell of the bookstore and how everything looked in the mall bookstore when I bought it that day. This was back in 2004. I went back two days later and bought more. LOL! I was hooked. Tell us about your favorite character you’ve ever written. This was really hard. I think my favorite to write is Black Annis. She does what she wants at all times. It is interesting to write a character with no inhibition or conscience to restrict her. Good or bad, her actions are always strategic to a plan. What do you do to de-stress when you’re…

Meet Bridget Blackwood at Readers & ‘ritas in November!
Author Spotlight / October 3, 2017

As part of our countdown to Readers & ‘ritas 2017, our Meet theAuthor interview series helps you get to know the authors joining us in Texas on November 10-12. Read on to get acquainted with author Bridget Blackwood, and purchase your tickets to meet her in person at Readers &‘ritas! What book made you fall in love with the genre you write? Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It was the first time I’d ever read a paranormal romance with such a large world building scope. It was amazing and I wanted more, easily devouring the next dozen Dark- Hunter books. If a movie were made of your most recent book, who would you cast in the lead and why? Dove Cameron would be a great Ianthe (from LOST IN PARADISE, the latest in my World in Shadows series). I’ve seen her play a variety of characters and she always nails the performance like she was born for it. I think she’d be able to portray Ianthe’s fierceness through her vulnerability she wears like armor. She’s very beautiful and younger looking, which lends credit to the deadly allure of Sirens. Sam Claflin is my pick for the male lead. Zander comes…
