Tawna Fenske | 20 Questions: THE BEST KEPT SECRET
Author Guest / March 4, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? THE BEST KEPT SECRET   2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?  After she rescues her sister’s ex from a loopy response to pain meds, Nyla has to keep Leo’s biggest secret while trying not to fall for him.   3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place?  Nearly all of my 40+ published rom-coms take place in the Pacific Northwest. I’m a fourth-generation Oregonian, so this region and its quirks will always have my heart. While The Best Kept Secret takes place in a tiny town in northern Washington, fans of the series will recognize some of the Oregon-based smokejumpers who make an appearance (but don’t worry if you haven’t read others—all the books are standalones!)   4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?  Definitely! She’s one of the kindest, most caring and earnest people I know. Even though she can’t keep a secret to save her life, she’s the sort of person who’ll have your back no matter what.   5–What are three words that describe your hero? Loving, hard-working, father. That last one is really at the core of who Leo…

Alicia Hunter Pace | 20 Questions: SMOOTH AS SILK
Author Guest / February 25, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? SMOOTH AS SILK   2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?  attract story, haphazard, pro hockey player Robbie MacTavish, in his tattered kilt and mismatched socks, is the last person ambitious, prim Hyacinth Dawson wants in her life—no matter how charming he is. But she needs his help in order to get her bridal shop on the reality show, All Dressed in White. Is surviving with her heart intact possible?   3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? All of my books are set in the South, so that was a given. I wanted a larger city for the setting for a new professional hockey franchise, but the story needed a small town feel. Since Birmingham, Alabama doesn’t have an NHL team, but has several upscale suburbs, it seemed a natural. The team could play their games in downtown Birmingham, with offices and the practice rink twenty minutes away in the fictional village, Laurel Springs.   4–Would you hang out with Hyacinth in real life? Yes, though I would probably enjoy it more toward the end of the book after she has loosened up a bit!…

It’s okay, though; my neighbors and chickens are more entertaining than social media anyway.   What I’m looking for in my ideal reader match: Someone in search of relaxation A fondness for hunky single dads is a plus in this reader Appreciation for female entrepreneurs A love of silliness Soft spot for characters who can laugh at themselves as well as each other A willingness to accept (even if begrudgingly) small-town dynamics Someone who likes to smile at shenanigans My ideal reader must have a love of happy endings   What to expect if we’re compatible: Laughter Smiles Perhaps some tense moments Scenes featuring loving, involved parents spouting terrible cliché sayings And for sure, a happily ever after ACCIDENTALLY PERFECT by Marissa…

Annie West Interview – Billionaires and Romance
Author Guest , Interviews / February 18, 2022

Hi, and thank you so much for inviting me to visit. It’s lovely to be here! In your latest book, CLAIMING HIS VIRGIN PRINCESS, your hero Noah Carson is a billionaire. This is a common thing for a romance hero. What makes a billionaire hero so attractive? What is your favorite type of hero to write? It’s interesting how many heroes are rich, isn’t it? One thing I particularly enjoyed about Noah was his perspective on wealth and power. He doesn’t come from money but from very humble origins and worked hard to build his commercial success. I think there are a couple of reasons why billionaire heroes are popular. At the most obvious level a rich hero can do things that are poor hero can’t, like whisk the heroine away on a luxurious yachting trip, as Noah does. But for me, the real appeal lies deeper. That wealth is a sign of the hero’s success. One of the things most people find attractive is competence – whether it be a man who can fix things with his hands, or solve a problem, or just be very, very good at whatever it is he does. If he’s a businessman his…
