Lana Harper | A Witch Casts a Risky Spell to Regain the Memory She’s Lost
Author Guest / August 24, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? IN CHARM’S WAY 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? The fourth standalone story in the Witches of Thistle Grove series, In Charm’s Way is about a witch who casts a risky, forbidden spell in order to regain the memory she’s lost, and finds herself getting much more than she bargained for—including a slew of dangerous creatures intent on eating her, and a sultry, half-fae monster hunter with motives of her own. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I’ve been hanging out in the enchanted town of Thistle Grove, Illinois—complete with four witchy families with different talents, a magical lake on top of a mountain, and everything from occult megastores and themed restaurants to apple orchards and an oversized spin on Renaissance Faires—for three years, and I’m still loving it! 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Absolutely… if she’d let me! Delilah Harlow isn’t exactly known for being gregarious. Or approachable. Or even really very pleasant. But once you get past the prickly veneer, this fiercely independent scholar and her raven familiar are surprisingly sweet, and make for delightful company. 5–What…

Lana Harper | Title Challenge: BACK IN A SPELL
Author Guest / January 12, 2023

Hi, I’m Lana Harper, author of the Witches of Thistle Grove series! In BACK IN A SPELL, Nina Blackmoore—one of the most powerful witches in town, as well as a successful lawyer by day—becomes entangled with normie Morty Gutierrez, the sexy, offbeat owner of the quirky Shamrock Cauldron bar. When Nina experiences a tremendous surge of her powers, and Morty suddenly begins developing magic himself, she’ll have to discover what mysterious force is binding them together—and what she’s willing to sacrifice to keep him in her life. This witchy pansexual romcom comes out on 1/3/2023, but you can read a little more about it below!    B—B is for Blackmoore, the most powerful, entitled, and ruthless witch family in Thistle Grove—and the family Nina has felt stifled and damaged by her entire life. A—A is for adrift, which is how Nina still feels a year after having been all but ditched at the altar by her fiancée, Sydney. C—C is for Christmas (or Yule for witches) because this story is the Thistle Grove spin on a Christmas romance! K—K is for kryptonite… which is what Mortimer Gutierrez feels like for Nina, once she starts falling for him.   I—I is…

Danielle Jackson | 2021 Trends in Romance
Author Guest / December 17, 2021

2021 has been… a year. One that felt both very long and over in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, we have had a plethora of romance novels come out to occupy our time, make sense of the world, and have a little fun. I read a lot of books. A LOT of books. Some I finish, some I don’t, some I buy and they sit happily unread on my bookshelves and eReader. I spend a ton of time looking at books that are coming out—I just received my first email about a JUNE 2022 book—and noticed some trends throughout the year… Trends that I think we’ll continue to see explored, subverted, and challenged into next year as well. WITCHES 2021 was the year of the witch! September and October 2021 saw a bunch of witchy, cozy, paranormal romance novels come out, and I am here for it all. Women (and men, too) discover their powers and how to control them, but also what can happen when they let loose a little, too. PAYBACK’S A WITCH by Lana Harper, who was a guest on the Fresh Fiction Podcast earlier this year. BLACK MOON RISING AND BLACK SIREN’S SONG by Mila…
