The German invasion of Poland derails Adia Kensington’s plans to learn from the greatest breeders of Arabian horses in the world but brings a British spy to her aid. Amidst the Blitzkrieg and a tense occupation, the two clash over everything—except their efforts to save the horses. Based on true events. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? The story is based on true events in WWII, so the setting came to me because the true story and the unique circumstances became something that I couldn’t let go, and it became a story I just had to write. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Absolutely—she’s as horse-obsessed as I am and also cares deeply for the helpless. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Stubborn, hard-working, passionate. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned a lot about Polish history and Polish culture and became quite entranced with the country itself.
