A cryptic text leads Liv Russo to suspect that her dead husband may actually be alive and living in the Alaskan wilderness. Heading north with her developmentally delayed young son, Liv soon discovers that the most dangerous thing in the wild may not be starvation, cold or grizzly bears but the person you love. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? My husband and I spent seven weeks traveling through Alaska and the Yukon in our van. We hiked, fished, and camped along rushing rivers without another person in sight. When I was thinking about plot and about where someone could disappear if they wanted to hide, the wilderness of Alaska came to mind first. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life?
