Tee O’Fallon | Romeo and Juliet Meets Donnie Brasco
Author Guest / October 16, 2023

What is the title of your latest release?  ABOVE ‘N’ BEYOND, the seventh and final book in the Federal K-9 series.   What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?   Romeo & Juliet Meet Donnie Brasco…   An undercover cop falls in love with his target’s niece. When she discovers his true identity, will she dime him out or work with him to bring down her family’s criminal organization?   How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I try to mix things up in every book in the same series. There’s a nice restaurant-antique town in Rockland County, NY called Nyack. Even though this area was colonized by the Dutch, Nyack is named after an American Indian tribe. That’s where this story mainly takes place.   Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Definitely! Bella is fun, snarky, has a spitfire personality, went to culinary school and loves to cook, owns her own Italian (my fave cuisine) bistro, stocks good wine in her restaurant, and loves dogs. Bella is the perfect friend.   What are three words that describe your hero? Selfless. Courageous. Wounded.   What’s something you learned while writing this…

Tee O’Fallon | An ATF Agent and His Canine Partner Team Up to Stop an Arsonist
Author Guest / August 22, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? BURNING JUSTICE 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? An ATF agent and his canine partner must team up with a civilian to stop an arsonist before they can kill again. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? Burning Justice is the second book in my K-9 Special Ops series, all the books for which are set in the Denver, Colorado area. Although I do have my H&H go on a road trip to Leadville, CO. At over 10,000 feet in elevation, Leadville is the highest incorporated city in North America, btw. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? I’d hang out with Brett or Gemma any day! I think I’m secretly in love with all the heroes of my books. Like me, Gemma renovated a house and is a whiz with power tools! I think we’d strike up a serious girl-bond. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? For Brett – Driven. Haunted. Heroic. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned an awful lot about arson investigations, something I wasn’t familiar with before. To add realism to the…

Tee O’Fallon | Title Challenge: HONOR ’N’ DUTY
Author Guest / July 18, 2022

Hey everyone! I’m Tee O’Fallon, a romantic suspense author hailing from New York. I’d love to share a bit about my latest release in the Federal K-9 series, HONOR ’N’ DUTY.   Kade Sampson is a Department of Homeland Security K-9 officer. Sadly, for Kade, his brother married the woman of his dreams, Laia Velez. Kade’s never forgotten the forty minutes he spent in an elevator with Laia. That was before he knew she was engaged to his brother. Laia Velez was not only more beautiful now than ever, but the mystical, magnetic effect she had on him was still imprinted on every cell in his body. If only he hadn’t ghosted her for the last two years.   Six years ago, Laia Velez made the difficult decision to marry Kade’s brother. She never forgot those forty minutes either. Now she’s in trouble. A drug cartel is after her and her young daughter, Rosa. The only person who can help her is the one man she swore never to call. Laia’s hands trembled, whether from rage or the thrill of seeing Kade again she couldn’t be sure, but her heart thumped wildly nonetheless.   And lest I not leave out…

Tee O’Fallon Interview – Federal Agents, Canines, and Romance
Author Guest , Interviews / April 4, 2022

Is it soon apparent in TOUGH JUSTICE who the bad guys are, and the challenge is just finding out how to stop them? Or is part of the mystery uncovering who’s behind it all? Personally, I like a good mystery, and it seems like most readers feel the same. Makes for a good page-turner. Rather than give too much away up front, I’ve done my best to try and keep readers guessing. So, part of the mystery in this story is figuring out who the bad guys are. What do you like about writing romantic suspense? Writing RS allows me to combine elements of my work experience and the interesting (and often quirky!) people I’ve encountered throughout my career, with my love of romance. It seemed like a natural fit for me. Since you have your other Federal K-9 series, I’m wondering what inspires you to write about K-9 agents specifically? Honestly, writing K-9 books was not my brainchild. I have to give credit where it’s due. I owe it all to my very first editor, Karen Grove. I’d just finished the last of my NYPD Blue & Gold series, and we were brainstorming over what I should write next. Karen…

Hi Everyone! I’m TEE O’FALLON, a romantic suspense writer bringing you hunky heroes, feisty heroines, and courageous dogs. It’s great to be here with you today and to share some fun tidbits about my new book, SERVE ’N’ PROTECT, book 5 in the Federal K-9 series. U.S. Secret Service Officer Markus York doesn’t want or need anyone muddling up his life. Until he’s seriously injured and left for dead. The only help around is his way too cheery, way too enticing next door neighbor. If they can stay one step ahead of whoever’s trying to kill him, they just might have a shot at falling in love! E is for eventually. No worries here, eventually Cassidy and Markus will find their HEA. R is for recovery. Both Markus and Cassidy are recovering not only from physical injuries but from emotional wounds, as well. V is for villain. This book’s got plenty of villains to keep the hero and heroine busy. Tee O’Fallon | 20 Questions: TRAP ‘N’ TRACE
Author Guest / June 15, 2020

1–What’s the name of your latest release?  TRAP ’N’ TRACE 2–What is it about?  This story is about tracking an elusive killer, and the police can’t find a motive. The only link between the victims is that they were discovered by the same person–Katrina Vandenburg. Kat is a wealthy socialite with a heart of gold. She gives oodles of money to charity every year and has her own charity–the Canine Haven, a rescue shelter that finds good homes for dogs and trains some of them to be service animals. FBI agent Dayne Andrews and his K-9 Remy are drawn into the investigation and wind up protecting Kat. Despite their extremely different backgrounds, the sparks fly between Dayne and Kat. 3–What word best describes your heroine?  Caring. Many people often equate wealth with snobbishness, insensitivity, and self-centeredness. Kat is just the opposite of that, and Dayne is surprised to learn just how warm, generous, and caring she really is. 4–What makes your hero irresistible?  I just love a strong hunky guy with emotional wounds from his past, and Dayne is no exception. He’s tall, dark, and broody with amazing green eyes, and he’s got a soft spot for Kat. Although it…

Tee O’Fallon | Behind the Scenes of Dark ’N’ Deadly, A Federal K-9 Novel
Author Guest / November 1, 2019

The Plot: It never fails that someone asks me where I come up with the story lines for my books, and I’m always happy to talk about it. Sometimes the plots are based loosely on something I investigated in my career. Other times, not so much. Sometimes I am simply inspired by something, or in this case–someone–I encountered on the job. While I was not completely aware of it at the time, the plot behind Dark ’N’ Deadly, the third of my Federal K-9 Series, started marinating in my head more than five years ago while I was assigned to my agency’s Denver office. The Colorado State Patrol Academy hosted a sovereign citizen seminar given by Chief Robert Paudert (ret.) of the West Memphis, Arkansas Police Department. Many Americans are unaware that the FBI considers sovereign citizens to be a growing domestic threat to law enforcement. Until relatively recently, law enforcement agencies were unfamiliar with this threat, and some paid the ultimate price. Chief Paudert’s son and another police officer were killed during an exchange of gunfire with members of a sovereign citizen extremist group. Since then, Chief Paudert has dedicated his life to educating law enforcement officers at all…

Tee O’Fallon | Writing Dog-Speak
Author Guest / February 22, 2019

Taking on a K-9 series has been one of the most rewarding, yet challenging endeavors of my writing career. Sure, it’s easy to select a breed for my K9 characters or to pick a cool name for the dog, but writing dog-speak? Trust me, it’s not so easy. Not if you want your canine characters to be just as much a part of the show as your human ones. As authors, we have two intrinsic ways of “showing” readers who and what our heroes and heroines are as people and what their personalities are like. One way is through action, and the other is via conversation. What a character says is a fundamental way to convey who that character is and what’s important to them. But how do you do that when one of your main characters isn’t human and can’t talk? English, that is. A dog has basic language skills he/she uses to get its point across: bark, woof, snort, whine, whimper, growl…you get the picture, but there’s no language as we (humans, that is) know it. So how can it be done? How does an author get across to the reader what kind of personality a dog has?…
