The Character Most Likely – Jennifer Estep – CONQUER THE KINGDOM

March 9, 2023

To celebrate Jennifer Estep’s new “Gargoyle Queen” book CONQUER THE KINGDOM, we here at Fresh Fiction thought it would be a fun way for readers to get to know her characters better (from her many many fab books) to play a little game we call “The Character Most Likely”. I love this because it satisfies my romance nerd self. If you’re new to her Gargoyle Queen series – It’s a mix of magic, adventure, and romance. The result often combines chaos and eroticism in a satisfying way. Jennifer is free to select her answers from any of her paranormal series.

Only Bad Options by Jennifer Estep

Most likely to figure out a way to use an enemy’s strength against him?

ANSWER: Vesper Quill from ONLY BAD OPTIONS. Vesper is an inventor/engineer who works in the research and development lab for a large corporation, so she is always dreaming up ways to make brewmakers, blasters, and other objects better, faster, and stronger. Sooner or later, she would figure out how to turn her enemy’s strength into a weakness.

Most likely to prefer using strategy or magic rather than swords or other instruments of battle?

ANSWER: Reiko Yamato from CONQUER THE KINGDOM. Reiko is a spy at heart, and she is much more likely to go undercover, sneak into an enemy’s castle, and gather information rather than immediately launch herself into battle against someone.

Conquer the Kingdom by Jennifer Estep

Most likely to choose love over duty?

ANSWER: Gemma Ripley from CONQUER THE KINGDOM. As a child, Gemma survived a royal massacre, and she is determined to not let that happen to her family and friends. Gemma will do anything to protect her kingdom, people, and gargoyles, even if it means sacrificing her own potential happiness with Leonidas Morricone.

Most likely to compromise for the greater good?

ANSWER: Leonidas Morricone from CONQUER THE KINGDOM. Leonidas has spent his whole life being torn between protecting his mother Maeven (who has done some truly terrible things) and following his own instincts to do what is right. But Maeven is the queen, so Leonidas often has to go along with her plans to protect his sister Delmira and their kingdom of Morta.

Most likely to be misunderstood?

ANSWER: Queen Maeven Morricone from CONQUER THE KINGDOM. Maeven will not hesitate to lie, scheme, plot, and even kill in order to advance her own interests and get what she wants, but she also has a deep love for Leonidas and Delmira, along with the kingdom of Morta. Maeven is one of my favorite characters that I’ve ever written because she is just so complicated.

Most likely to work with a friend to save the day?

ANSWER: Delmira Morricone from CONQUER THE KINGDOM. Delmira is still struggling to figure out her magic and place in the world, but she will not hesitate to leap into action if one of her friends or family members is threatened.

Hot Mama by Jennifer Estep

Most likely to dazzle their admirers with a to-die-for outfit?

ANSWER: Fiona Fine from my Bigtime superhero series. Fiona is a fashion designer, so she always looks fabulous whether she is heading to work, going to a party, or moonlighting as a superhero and battling ubervillains. LOL.

Most likely to be feared by enemies?

ANSWER: Grimley, Gemma’s gargoyle, and Lyra, Leonidas’s strix, from CONQUER THE KINGDOM. Grimley and Lyra are both fiercely protective of their humans, and they will both do anything to protect Gemma and Leonidas. Plus, who wouldn’t be terrified of a gargoyle and a strix swooping down from the sky to attack?

Happy reading, everyone!
