Hi. I’m Alice Gaines, and I’m here to talk about my new release, The Player’s Game. It’s the second book in my Players’ Pact series from Entangled Indulgence.
I’ll let my hero, Grant, introduce himself:
I’ve got to admit, life is sweet these days. As a starting NFL quarterback, I do okay, and I haven’t been lacking for female companionship. But I’d give it all up in a heartbeat if I could get back the woman I loved and lost–my ex-wife, Katy.
Now I’m at a wedding, watching one of my best friends tie the knot. I’m happy for him–really. I just wish things had turned out better when I’d taken that walk down the aisle. Still, those days are over.
I’m on my way up to my room when I run into my ex in the elevator. It’s like karma. Has to be. Only she’s with some random guy, who’s getting a little too handsy for my liking. I can’t help myself–I have to say something. Something that ruins her night. . . and mine, too.
Now, I’m sitting alone in my hotel room, when suddenly, Katy’s at my door, complaining that I ruined her 30th birthday. Her solution–that I give her the night of sexual adventure I’d derailed in the elevator.
I never was very good at saying no to her. . .
Katy and Grant have been in love since college, but unfortunately, their marriage failed. As Katy puts it, “We’re oil and water.” He believes a man is supposed to protect and provide for the people he loves. And he wants children. Katy’s focused on her career with a high-powered law firm. A chance encounter in a hotel elevator changes all that.

H – his wife. That’s how Grant thinks of Katy, even after their divorce.
E – emotion. No matter how much Katy and Grant try to avoid them, old feelings won’t die.

P – passion. One thing that always worked for them. In the bedroom, on the couch, in the back seat of a beat-up old truck.
L – love. They’re both fighting it as hard as they can. Guess who wins.
A – attorney. Katy’s struggling to fit in at her job but feels everyone is more qualified than she is.
Y – yes! That’s what Grant thinks when Katy asks him for sex one more time.
E – emergency department. Katy sneaks in and tries to elude hospital security while she searches for Grant.
R – reunion. The sex is great, but what is their new relationship, and can they make it work?
S – sex, and lots of it. Even a little kink.

G – gorgeous. Katy’s gorgeous whatever she wears or nothing at all.
A – agony. Saying goodbye again is painful.
M – mutual respect. That’s where they end up after working through the issues that separated them.
E – ending. A happy one.
