1–What is the title of your latest release? THE SILENCE IN HER EYES 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Since childhood, Leah has lived with akinetopsia or motion blindness. For the past twenty years, nothing has moved around her. Her world often transforms in the blink of an eye: when she blinks, whatever is in front of her disappears. As she walks around her Morningside Heights neighborhood in Manhattan with the help of a cane, those around her assume she is blind, but in reality, the only thing she cannot see is movement. After the death of her mother, Leah has a quiet, orderly life, with little human beyond her housekeeper, her doctor and her elderly neighbor, until Alice moves into the apartment next door. After a violent argument between Alice and her husband, Leah discovers, through the walls, that her neighbor is living with a death threat. The night Leah wakes up to feel to someone has entered her apartment, she blacks out and in the morning, wonders if she dreamt the episode. Her only certainty is the smell of the intruder. And when she hears Alice through the wall pleading for her help, Leah makes a…
1–What is the title of your latest release? MURDER IN THE ALPS 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? 1920s lady sleuth to the high society set, Olive, travels to St. Moritz for a holiday, but when a death occurs, she suspects murder. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I wanted to write about one of the posh travel destinations of the 1920. I love the mountains, and there aren’t a lot of books set in the Alps in the winter in my genre, so I decided St. Moritz would be a perfect fit. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Yes! I’d love to join Olive for tea at the Savoy. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Plucky, independent, and determined. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned a lot about the history of winter sports, including downhill skiing, which was a new thing in the 1920s. Tobogganing and cross-country skiing were well-known winter sports. Skiing down the slopes was just gaining in popularity. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? I edit pretty heavily as I write,…
1–What is the title of your latest release? SUN DON’T SHINE 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Reece was abducted by her father when she was little. Now she’s sixteen and searching for a way out. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and it’s fascinating to see how much my home has changed over the years. The city is so much more complex than the cliches you see on TV—palm trees and pink flamingoes. When the novel opens, Reece mentions that she’s never even seen the beach. Her world is limited to the roadside motel and the characters who drift through the “Magic” city, always searching for a dream that might never come true. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? All my protagonists are friends to me! But it would be very difficult to make friends with Reece because she’s always got her guard up. That’s the one thing she really wants—a true friend. 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Brave, sarcastic, resilient 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I spent…

I grew up in California and love to explore ghost towns. 4–Would you hang out with your sleuth in real life? Yes, I could imagine her as a good friend. 5–What are three words that describe your sleuth? Loyal, dedicated, friendly. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? How to hire a hit man. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? I edit as I go. 8–What’s your favorite foodie indulgence? Brownies (or most anything chocolate) 9–Describe your writing space/office! I have a comfortable chair in the living room with an adjustable table for my laptop to sit on. 10–Who is an author you admire? Ruth Logan Herne 11–Is there a book that changed your life? My book is set in New York City. I have lived in New York City most of my life. I’ve worked in New York City for years during my journalistic career. My character has a job in a New York City media newsroom just like I did. Are you starting to see a pattern here? I write what I know. I know about New York City more than any other location, so that’s where I have this book take place. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? I would, but I think Clare’s too cool for me. Clare Carlson is attractive, smart and seems to go for good-looking, macho guys. Just…

Jamie Ogle: I never really liked Valentine’s Day, and for so many years didn’t understand why we celebrated it. But I have always loved digging into the “why” behind things, and when I finally looked up the origins of the holiday, I was captivated by the story of forbidden marriages and a man who risked his life to marry couples in secret. Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match” where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It’s our great pleasure to present Jenni L. Walsh! Writes: Jenni L. Walsh writes edge-of-your-seat historical novels. She loves the “inspired by” and the “based on” stories that bring history to life. Depression-era outlaws, Wild West rule-breakers, spies, war heroines, and daring motorcycle dispatch riders are some of the strong women you’ll get to know in her novels. In her most recent, UNSINKABLE, you’ll find two unsinkable females: a Titanic survivor and a WWII spy. About: Ten-time novelist seeks eager readers. I love writing banter and characters who make jokes when they’re nervous. Sometimes I put my characters through the wringer, but I try to give them a happily ever after in the end. I’m a homebody, content to curl up with a book. My friends say my own books are “a must read” (Noelle Salazar), “an absolute treat for historical fiction lovers” (Fiona Davis), and “compulsively readable” (Chanel Cleeton). What I’m looking for in my ideal reader match: Drawn to stories inspired by real life Loves…
Book Title: DISENCHANTED Character Name: Prunella Marie Upton (Except don’t ever call me that! I loathe my first name. I prefer to be simply Ella. How would you describe your family or your childhood? My early childhood was wonderful. I lived with my mother and father in Castleton, the largest city in our kingdom of Arcady. My mama had a great imagination and invented games for me such as my battles with the ogre, Dirty Burt (my lovely mother in disguise.) My father was more serious, but I loved sitting on his lap while he read from my favorite book, The Life and Exploits of Queen Anthea, the Magnificently Wise. And then there was my best friend, Malcolm Hawkridge, the boy next door. Mal and I enjoyed many adventures, playing at being river pirates or bandits, besieging my dollhouse with Mal’s toy soldiers and cannons. Everything changed when my mother died. My grieving father became a recluse, shutting himself away in the library. But he provided for my upbringing by marrying again, Imelda Wendover, a woman with two small daughters of her own. But I would not have you think this is a tale about a girl who acquired…
BOOK TITLE: ROCK BOTTOM ROMANCE by Diane Holiday CHARACTER NAME: Zach Stone How would you describe your family or your childhood? Things were a bit chaotic, growing up with two brothers. We drove our parents crazy with all the pranks we pulled on each other. Despite that, I grew up in a loving environment with parents who taught us manners and to treat others as we would want to be treated. What was your greatest talent? Climbing trees. My family owned a park on an island and I spent a lot of time racing my brothers to climb the fastest and highest. I won…a lot! Significant other? I don’t have one right now. There’s some crazy chemistry going on between me and this spoiled Hollywood star who is filming a camping reality show on the island, but trust me, she’s the last person I’d ever consider. Biggest challenge in relationships? I don’t get into them. I have too much baggage and would never expect anyone to deal with it. Where do you live? I live in South Carolina. I have a small house on the island near the campgrounds that I run. Do you…
