Author Guest / February 5, 2026

Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match” where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It’s our great pleasure to present Hannah Reynolds! Writes:Award-winning romantic comedies, filled with banter, whimsy, and sweeping romance! I want to make you laugh, which is why A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DATING A DEMON has such a playful premise: What if you had unwanted suitors — and to get rid of them, you started saying you were already betrothed? To a demon, to make extra sure the guys would leave you alone. And what if doing so accidentally summoned a demon who insists you are betrothed? I hope you’ll laugh out loud through the whole book — while also getting swept up in the slow burn romance. About:I grew up in a small New England town, hanging out with friends and baking chocolate treats. I love croissants, staying warm, and meeting friends in local cafes. In high school, I worked as a Barnes and Noble bookseller, and in college, I studied creative writing and archaeology. I spent a year in Paris after graduation — influenced by my grandmother, who grew…

Angela Montoya | A young woman poses as fortune-teller at a magical traveling carnival
Author Guest / February 5, 2026

What is the title of your latest release?CARNIVAL FANTASTICO What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?CARNIVAL FANTASTICO follows a young woman posing as fortune-teller at a magical traveling carnival, where the handsome boy who once broke her heart resurfaces and warns her that the carnival is more sinister than it appears. How did you decide where your book was going to take place? When I think of the heyday of traveling carnivals, I think of the 1920s and 1930s. Everything seemed so rambunctious and gilded during that time period. Of course, this is a secondary world, so things aren’t exactly true to the roaring twenties. We have kings and royal commanders in the world of CARNIVAL FANTASTICO, and we have gods who meddle with people’s lives. Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?Absolutely! I love Esmeralda’s sharp wit and adventurous spirit. I am super introverted and need an extrovert to force me out of my comfort zone. Esmeralda would happily give me the push I need. What are three words that describe your hero?Ignacio: Brave. Loyal. Pure-hearted.Esmeralda: Bold. Clever. Chaotic. What’s something you learned while writing this book?Carnivals have a very interesting and not so spectacular history….

Brittany Johnson | Two dead princesses must survive a cursed forest on a quest for true love’s kiss
Author Guest / February 4, 2026

What is the title of your latest release?DEADLY EVER AFTER What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Two dead princesses must survive a cursed forest on a quest for true love’s kiss, except there’s a catch. The right kiss will save them. The wrong one will kill them. How did you decide where your book was going to take place?Truthfully, and this might be fairly paradoxical, but it was a very intentional and deep yet shallow decision. I knew the story was going to take place in a world that felt like a never-ending garden, due to my love of floral metaphors—especially in relation to identity, growth, and healing. The shallow component is that I think flowers are gorgeous. They’re truly one of my favorite things on earth, so having a story that’s so close to my heart be full of something I adore so much just felt right. Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?I would love to go to a bakery with Amala and try to do something active with Kha’dasia. Perhaps rock climbing, but she’d probably hate that. (IYKYK) What are three words that describe your hero? For Amala—Sensitive, compassionate, resilient. For Kha’dasia—loyal, tenacious, gentle….

Deborah Clack | Author-Reader Match: EVEN AFTER THIS
Author Guest / February 4, 2026

Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match” where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It’s our great pleasure to present Deborah Clack! Writes:Poignant contemporary romance of second chances with serious amounts of swoon but no spice, celebrity meets reluctant widow, love after loss, grief and healing, grit, beauty, and laugh-out-loud humor. About:Hi. I’m Deborah. I love all things romance. The meet cute, the angst, the first kiss. But I have confess that my favorite part of a romance is when the hero sees the heroine for who she really is, flaws and all, and he can’t help but fall in love with her. And I believe the most heroic part of a love story is when the heroine finally sees herself, flaws and all, and she can’t help but embrace her strong, beautiful self. Does that sound like the kind of story you could stay up late reading? The kind of encouragement you could use right about now? What I’m looking for in my ideal reader match:• swoon-worthy romance• angst• grit• real-life struggles• organic humor• deep journeys with redemption• a soft place to land…

Lynette Eason and Dani Pettrey | Conversations in Character with Maya Sullivan
Author Guest / February 4, 2026

Book Title: WHITEOUTCharacter Name: Maya Sullivan How would you describe your family or your childhood?I had a great childhood. My parents were lovely believers who raised me to be confident in who I am and where I was going. When I decided to be a trauma surgeon, they were all in with their support, both emotionally and financially. What was your greatest talent?I was always the one taking care of the wounded animals on the ranch during my summer breaks. Any time a horse came up lame, after the vet left, I did my best to hurry the healing along. Significant other? Not at the moment and not really looking, to be honest, but then I ran into Gideon Price, my teenage crush, and I’ll have to admit, the feelings came rushing back. Just more adult now. But the timing stinks so I’m going to have to do my best to ignore them. He’s not making it easy, though, because I can tell he’s interested. Sigh… Biggest challenge in relationships?I’m a take charge kind of person so I know I can come across a bit intimidating sometimes. It can throw a lot of men off and scare them away. But that’s…

Author Guest / February 3, 2026

She’s his ex-girlfriend’s sister and completely off-limits. When his teammates set them up on a blind date, sparks fly in ways no one expected. How did you decide where your book was going to take place?I actually did a vote on my social media and Washington DC had the most votes. Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?Definitely because I feel like we’re really similar in a lot of ways. What are three words that describe your hero?Steadfast. Loyal. Charming. What’s something you learned while writing this book? That I take so much for granted when it comes to sight. Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done?I’m definitely a wait until I’m completely done type of person. I don’t want to get distracted or get too in my head, so I’d rather wait until the first draft is over before going back and editing with fresh eyes. What’s your favorite foodie indulgence?Desserts! It’s usually the first thing I look at on a menu and I choose…

Playlist | RISKY BUSINESS by Annabelle Slator
Author Guest / February 3, 2026

Falling Apart by Emma LouiseLilac Everything is an incredibly important album in regard to this novel; it’s even referenced in the dedication. To me, the song Falling Apart feels like 3am at the jazz club. The slow, eddying sadness and defeat is palpable. This is the state we find our main character, Jess Cole at the beginning of Risky Business. She’s falling apart, and she’s slowly unravelling throughout the entire story until she takes her fate into her own hands. The album was created by Emma Louise, who was stifled by the limitations of her own range. At the end of the album’s production, she decided to pitch her voice down to resemble a man’s and found a new creative avenue for self-expression. Lyrics took on new meaning, the nuances of her voice became more obvious, and it created a piece of art beyond itself. I find exploring the concept of gender performance and expectations really interesting and I love how this musical choice reflects the themes of Risky Business; Jess experiencing the limitations of her own gender, attempting but failing to succeed as a woman in a man’s world. She is only able to open doors and fully realize…

Kym Roberts | Cozy Corner Interview: Candace Havens Writes Bestselling Cozy Mysteries as Lucy Connelly
Author Guest / February 2, 2026

Hard working, funny, talented, and a true professional craftswoman, Candace Havens has earned so many accolades I couldn’t begin to list them all. What I can tell you, is that countless authors have improved their writing because of the time she’s gifted them. To me, that is the mark of genius, not the awards and the titles, and personal accomplishments, but the dedication to improving the profession and product released to the readers. It was a coup to steal her time to give you a little insight into her talent, and her wonderful series within the cozy genre. (And if you want to visit her romance worlds, I can vouch for those as well!) Kym: Welcome to the Cozy Corner! I must admit, interviewing a professional with your level of experience and overall industry expertise is a little daunting. LOL, but too many of us want a peak at your brilliance. I first met you with the release of THE DEMON KING AND I, a much different genre than what you’re currently conquering like a crazy woman—the cozy mystery genre—YAY for cozy fans! What made you decide to close the door on the page, to the spicier writing content?Candy: Thank…

Mary Jo Burke | Love is in the air or is that snowflakes?
Author Guest / February 2, 2026

Is February Romance’s designated month because it’s the shortest or is everyone done with January? Not to diss the first month, but it feels like fifty percent of the year. We all know February is the assigned representative of love because of Valentine’s Day. As a child, I loved Valentine’s Day. I carefully chose each valentine for my classroom parties. Unfortunately, back then, we didn’t give cards to the entire class. I hope that cruelty has passed.  I never gave a card to a boy, didn’t want a Lisa Simpson moment. Being misunderstood and breaking his heart would be mean. Plus, I have older brothers with a lot of friends, so to me, boys were loud and smelly. The last thing I needed in my life was another guy. Even well into high school and college, I never spoke to my crushes. It might ruin my impression of them or show off my true dork side to all. Valentine’s Day provides a nice cover to let someone know if you like them or not. In high school, you could buy flowers and have them distributed during class. Black carnations were for sale but, on Valentines Day, they were not delivered….
