Amanda McCabe | Conversations in Character with Eleanor (Ella) St. Aubin
Author Guest / March 27, 2024

Book Title:  THE EARL’S CINDERELLA COUNTESS Character Name:  Eleanor (Ella) St. Aubin   How would you describe your family or your childhood?  Hello! I am so pleased to be invited there today.  My childhood was lovely—until my darling mother died.  My father was the vicar of a small village, next to the Earl of Fleetwood’s grand estate, and my mother was the heart of everything.  She ran our home and made it beautiful, was beloved by all the parishioners, and was a wonderful mother to my sister Mary and myself.  When she was died, I had to leave school and look after the vicarage and Mary, as well as our father (he was a dear man, but very distracted!)  My dearest friend was Frederick, the younger son of the earl, until he left for the Army.   What was your greatest talent?  Organization!  A lady just had to be in such circumstances!  There was constantly something going awry in the house or the parish, and my dear sister Mary was very energetic.  But I could never be as serene about it as Mama.  Organization has served me well now, though, in running the Confidential Agency (we make marital matches!)  …

Author Guest / October 19, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? DUCHESS OF SIN – it’s the second in my Daughters of Erin trilogy, about the beautiful, rebellious Anna Blacknall, and the handsome, mysterious, dangerous Duke of Adair! 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Blonde and beautiful Lady Anna Blacknall is in the mood for mischief. Entering Dublin’s most notorious den of vice, she finds herself in the arms of a mysterious, emerald-eyed Irishman. And although he is masked, his tender kiss is hauntingly familiar. Conlan McTeer, Duke of Adair, has come to Dublin to fight for a free Ireland. But he’s suddenly reunited with the young Englishwoman who had once claimed his heart, and his passion turns from politics to pleasure. When their sizzling encounter brings danger to Anna’s door, she must decide where her loyalties lie and quickly. For someone will do whatever it takes to destroy Conlan and anyone he dares to love. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I’ve always wanted to do stories set in Ireland; it just took a while for the right characters to appear to me!  The Daughters of Erin books, set in and around the upheaval…

Amanda McCabe | 20 Questions: FLORA FLOWERDEW AND THE MYSTERY OF THE DUKE’S DIAMONDS
Author Guest / August 15, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? FLORA FLOWERDEW AND THE MYSTERY OF THE DUKE’S DIAMONDS!  A bit of a mouthful, but it suits this first in a new mystery series—a bit silly, a bit romantic, a bit caper-ish.  I loved writing it! 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Flora Flowerdew has a secret. The former Florrie Gubbins, music hall dancer, is now Madame Flowerdew, one of London’s most renowned spirit mediums. But it’s actually her beloved Pomeranian dog, Chou-Chou, who can see the ghosts. One of her most lucrative seances, for the wealthy Petrie family whose daughter is about to marry a handsome young duke, goes chaotically awry. The duke’s late, and very irate, grandfather demands Flora and his grandson Benedict find the long-missing family diamonds—even the search becomes littered with mayhem and murder! Can Flora discover the jewels before she loses her career, her sanity—and her heart? 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I’ve always been a big fan of reading steampunk stories!  And even though “Flora…” isn’t steampunk (she lives in a very real Victorian London) I thought some of that foggy, gaslit atmosphere was just right 4–Would…
