Amy Jarecki | Conversations in Character with Modesty MacGalloway
Author Guest / April 18, 2024

Book Title: CHARMED BY A WILY LASS Character Name: Modesty MacGalloway   How would you describe your family or your childhood? Well, I’m the sister of a duke. My family is vast and I’m the youngest of eight children, which meant I was under the thumb of either my nanny or my governess until my first Season. I didna follow in the footsteps of my elder sister, Grace, who attended Northbourne Seminary for Young Ladies to lose her Scottish accent. I’m far to partial to Scotland to lose my burr.   What was your greatest talent? I’m a horsewoman through and through. Had I been born a man, I would have become a jockey for certain.   Where do you live? That depends on the time of year. During the Season we oft stay in the duke’s London town house. We spend at least two months in summer at Stack Castle in the far northeast of Scotland. But my favorite of all the duke’s residences is Newhailes, which is only a short carriage ride from Edinburgh. The manor house is situated on the Firth of Forth and the stables are enormous!   Do you have any enemies? Not that I’m…

Amy Jarecki | Born to be a Princess but Destined to Become an Outcast
Author Guest / October 3, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? A PRINCESS IN PLAID 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Lady Grace was born to be a princess but destined to become an outcast. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? A Princess in Plaid is part of a series (though it can be read as a stand-alone) about the children of a Scottish dukedom and how they find love. All the books are set in Great Britain for the most part. 4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? After Lady Grace realizes how awful she has been in the past, absolutely, yes. She is amazing! 5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Grace is refined, educated, and lovely. Frasier (the man she falls in love with) is rugged, determined, and protective. 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned some things about the history of Lithuania. I also learned that snow removal was quite different in the early 1800s. Rather than shovel/clear the roads, they outfitted their carriages with skis. 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? I edit as I go,…

Amy Jarecki | A House Party, Twins, and Plans Going Awry
Author Guest / February 8, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? KISSING THE HIGHLAND TWIN 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? When Lord Andrew MacGalloway agrees to attend a house party, posing as his twin, he does so with good intentions. But carefully laid plans tend to go awry when one is impersonating his brother. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? This is the fourth book in the series, and though it is a stand-alone, Stack Castle has been mentioned in every book thus far. Stack Castle is an enormous (fictional) medieval fortress and was styled after Alnwick Castle in Northumberland. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? Oh, definitely, yes. Regenia is the sweetest person, clever and unpretentious. I’d love to chat with her over a cup of tea! 5–What are three words that describe your hero? Generous, Tenacious, and Adaptable. (of course, he’s handsome and swoon-worthy but those are very superficial descriptors). 6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? I learned how to make a torch with tree pitch! 7–Do you edit as you draft or wait until you are totally done? In the morning I usually edit what…
