Annie Seaton | Taking readers to Exotic Locations
Author Guest / June 27, 2017

Who loves to travel and see new places? Even though I am a home body—I love nothing more than curling up on a cold afternoon in winter with a mug of coffee, and a book or my kindle in hand—losing myself in new worlds, we also do a lot of travelling around researching settings for my books.  Even in summertime down under, you will often find me (when I am not writing or researching) swinging in my hammock with an icy glass of something beside me. But always, always with a story in front of me. I love reading, and wish I had more time to indulge, but new stories and new places beckon. But even though I love being home—being a Cancerian, home and hearth is very important to me—we hit the road each winter, and head off exploring settings and doing research for my stories. I’ve written contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and I’ve dipped my toe into historical and paranormal stories as well over the past six years since I began writing. My writing world is a place I love to be and I hope you enjoy visiting and seeing what I’m currently researching and writing, as well…

Annie Seaton | An Exotic Journey
Author Guest / September 17, 2014

A couple of days ago I received an email asking me to write an article for a national newsletter about the exotic locales of my books and how I researched them. The journalist also asked me what it was like to be a successful writer in this digital age. I made a cup of coffee and I sat for a while reflecting over the past three years since my debut book, Holiday Affair was contracted. My writing life is truly wonderful. There is a lot of hard work involved, but the benefits are enormous. Coming late to writing after a career in education meant to make an impact in this digital age, my books have to be of high quality and I had to be prolific. I now have thirteen different books available for sale (including two bundles), four more digital books written and in pre-production, and a three book print series contracted and underway. This has meant a very busy three years for me, but I have loved every minute of it. I have always been an observer of life and people. My online personality is a talkative one, responding to readers and interacting with other authors on a…

Annie Seaton | Musical heroes and some are semi naked!
Author Guest / February 25, 2014

I had one of those wonderful moments a few months… one of those great creative hits when the inspiration for your next story blitzes in via your heart. I was travelling to the Australian Romance Writers’ Association conference on the beautiful Gold Coast -now if you want to see naked heroes.,. just go to the beach there any time of the day- but I digress. Before I collected my travelling buddy, I was listening to a favourite CD from the 70s—at full volume as I do when I am in the car. I was bopping along listening to David Bowie sing one of my all time favourites at full volume (and concentrating on my driving of course) and a story line just appeared along with the music. By the time I collected my friend, the whole story was there and for an organic writer that is most unusual! So why do we find our rock heroes sexy and why does their music get the creative juices flowing? How do they ooze sex appeal when some of them are not particularly handsome and don’t fit the usual sexy stereotype. Some of the top bands today are in their sixties and they…
