Mary Kennedy | Seven Things You Really Need to Know About Dreams
Author Guest / September 3, 2014

I’ve been fascinated by dreams for as long as I can remember, and as a psychologist, I listen to dreams all day long!  My patients love to recount their dreams to me. Their dream material offers me a window into their innermost feelings, their hopes and dreams, their fears and anxieties.  In NIGHTMARES CAN BE MURDER, a group of Savannah women form a dream club and meet every week to discuss their dreams and solve a murder or two. Here are some of the most common questions people have asked me about dreams. “What does it mean if a dead relative appears to me in a dream?” When people dream of a loved one who has passed, they usually experience a sense of joy and peace. It reassures them to know that their friends, relatives and spouses really do exist on another plane. Invariably, the loved one appears to be in perfect health, happy and relaxed with no sorrow or cares. “Why do I keep dreaming about a beautiful house? “ The “House Dream” is very common and well documented. The house is supposed to represent all the untapped potential in your life. All the rooms are bright and airy,…

Mary Kennedy | Seven Things You Need To Know To Do Live Radio
Author Guest / January 16, 2011

Maggie Walsh, the heroine of the Talk Radio Mysteries, hosts a talk show on WYME, a south Florida radio station. My agent pitched and sold the series as a cross between ”Frasier” and “Murder She Wrote.” Like Fraiser, Maggie is a licensed psychologist who gives up her private practice for the fun and excitement of live radio. And like Jessica Fletcher in “Murder She Wrote,” she solves a murder in every book. Sometimes two! When I was promoting REEL MURDER, book two in the series, Kate White, editor of COSMO and a New York Times best-selling novelist, asked me if I’d like to be a guest on COSMO Radio. Naturally I jumped at the chance. I was invited on the Wake up With Taylor Show, a morning talk show on Sirius Radio hosted by the irrepressible Taylor Strecker and co-host and producer, Kenny Z,  Both Taylor and Kenny,  a stand-up Manhattan comic are smart, witty, high energy people. And above all, they are entertaining. The show is fun, fast-paced and careens from pop culture to politics to arts and entertainment in a nanosecond. If you’re an author and lucky enough to be invited on their show, (or any live radio…

Rebecca Pena | Another Summer Gone
Author Guest / September 5, 2010

The past few weeks have been super busy, wouldn’t you say? For me, it feels like months have passed. For example, I can’t remember what I did last week. Not a very good trait to have, but you know what they say, time does fly…. I started marking time by big events or random oddities throughout the day. Do any of you have this problem? For some, this method of remembering works best; but, for someone like me it is definitely a trend that needs to be fixed. HAHA School specifically requires me to have an organized mind; not a spacey one, which happens often when my calendar is blank. To put it bluntly, August was super exciting for me! I have many great memories and news to tell you! In the beginning of the month my sister celebrated her 15th birthday. In the Mexican culture, we plan huge parties called Quinceaneras. It’s basically a party that symbolizes my sister growing up into a woman and leaving her childhood behind, kind of like one of those Sweet Sixteen parties you see on MTV. Well the planning was hectic, expensive, and very last minute. As you can expect, our tempers were…
