Emily March | Exclusive Interview: TUCKER
Author Guest / February 25, 2020

Welcome back to Fresh Fiction, Emily! Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your new book, Eternity Springs: Tucker. I’m a native Texan and spend most of my time at our home in the Texas Hill Country. When I decided to do a trilogy set within the Eternity Springs world but in a locale outside of Colorado, Texas was a perfect fit. Gillian Thacker owns a bridal salon but hasn’t had the best luck when it comes to her own dating life. I love that contradiction – someone who works in the wedding business but isn’t really ready to settle down herself. What do you think readers will find relatable in Gillian? Gillian is a strong, capable person, but when she is thrown a big life curve, it takes her a little while to recover. I believe life is like that. It can knock you down, and we don’t all climb back on our feet at the same pace. I try to write my characters realistic. They’re not perfect, but they’re real. After a career in the Army, Tucker McBride is trying to navigate civilian life, and the last thing he wants is a boring desk job. So…

Emily March | Exclusive Excerpt: JACKSON
Author Guest / June 18, 2019

Caroline had faced many challenges in her life. She’d tackled some serious life-and-death trials. She’d persevered. She’d emerged if not victorious, then at least still standing. So why was she trembling in fear at this relatively minor task laid before her? It’s ridiculous. It made no sense whatsoever. “Are you ready?” Jackson asked. No! her inner self screamed. “Sure,” she said, lifting her chin. The music started. He emerged from behind the stage onto the empty dance floor at the Last Chance Hall. It is my last chance, Caroline thought. My last chance to bolt for the door. As a native Texan, it had been her biggest secret, her greatest shame. She didn’t know how to two-step. She’d never learned. She’d listened to pop music in high school and college. Robert introduced her to classical music, but he didn’t like to dance. So, she’d never learned. That, apparently, was about to change. Keen-eyed Jackson had noticed that she always made excuses not to dance at the Last Chance and called her on it. When she finally fessed up to her lack of skill, he’d declared himself her teacher. She wanted to learn. She did. So why was she so embarrassed…

Emily March | Exclusive Excerpt: The Christmas Wishing Tree
Author Guest / December 7, 2018

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE Christmas carols played softly in the background. The scent of spiced cider perfumed the air. Shoppers munched happily on gingerbread cookies and perused the bookshelves for that perfect gift. Dr. Jenna Stockton imagined ripping the halo off the angel’s head and choking her with it. Instead, she reached deep within herself for patience and managed to find a smile for the costumed character behind the bookstore counter. “If I could speak with your manager, please?” “She’s awfully busy.” Jenna thought of the ridiculous length of her own to-do list as she fought to keep her smile from turning into a sneer. “Yes, well, it’s that time of year, isn’t it? Your manager?” The little angel gave a haughty sniff, and then said, “If you’ll step out of line, please?” Without missing a beat, the angel turned a bright smile toward the woman waiting behind Jenna. “I’m so sorry for this unfortunate delay, ma’am. I’ll be as quick as I possibly can.” Jenna didn’t snarl like a rabid dog. She didn’t. She smiled at the woman behind her in line. Sweetly. Without canines. The woman and the four people behind her each gave Jenna an annoyed glower. She gave them all…

Emily March | Childbirth Pains… My New Book
Author Guest / March 22, 2011

Dear Readers, I’m giving birth to a new baby today.  Its name is HUMMINGBIRD LAKE it is the second book of my new Eternity Springs series.  This baby was conceived around fire pit with some writer friends over two years ago, and I carried it for six long months.  Now, with older sibling  ANGEL’S REST a month old, it’s time for the new offspring to join the family. Right now I’m in the transition stage of labor.  The hard stage.  The one that makes a girl want to glare at her keyboard and declare “I’m never touching you again!” That’s because now it’s time for me to talk about the book. I’m supposed to engage readers’ interest so they will go out and buy it.  The problem is that I find this part of the job more painful than watching my beloved Texas Aggies lose in the first round of this year’s March Madness.  They tell us to come up with a one sentence sales pitch, a high concept, an elevator sales pitch.  Yeah, right.  I spent 400 manuscript pages telling this story, and I’m supposed to condense it down to a sentence?  Aargh! Sage watched a tall man dressed…

Emily March | I’m a Virgin…Again!
Author Guest / March 12, 2011

It isn’t often that woman gets to become a virgin again.  Man, is it fun! My name is Emily March and my debut novel, ANGEL’S REST, is a March release.  It’s the first book in a series I’m writing for Ballantine called Eternity Springs.  The second book, HUMMINGBIRD LAKE, arrives at bookstores on March 22nd, with the third book, HEARTACHE FALLS, coming April 27th. So many wonderful things have happened since this first book came out.  It’s been released as an audiobook–as an Audible member with two accounts because I buy so much this is a real thrill.  It’s been chosen as a featured selection for Doubleday Book Club and is available as a ebook and in large print, too. The biggest thrill for this debut author to date came when I learned that ANGEL’S REST had received a coveted starred review from Publishers Weekly magazine. As an author with twenty-two previous books under my belt with no previous PW starred review, I was ecstatic. Which brings me back to the whole virgin thing. Before ANGEL’S REST and my Eternity Springs series, before I was Emily March, my name was Geralyn Dawson.  As Geralyn, I’d been  a USA bestselling author…
