Kerrigan Byrne and Cynthia St. Aubin | Exclusive Excerpt: NEVERMORE BOOKSTORE
Author Guest / April 4, 2023

Exclusive Excerpt of NEVERMORE BOOKSTORE:   The set-up: For stubbornly optimistic small-town bookstore owner Cady Bloomquist, her weekly phone calls with Fox are the perfect opportunity to escape a body that frequently makes life difficult for her, and a life whose challenges are stacked against her. Despite her attempts to convince herself that their conversations are best kept strictly business, she finds herself straying ever closer to pleasure. Fox is a mountain man survivalist who no longer has use for the civilized world. When he’s alone in the wilderness, he relies on books to keep him tethered to his humanity. In order to obtain the books, he places an order with a local bookshop every week. What began as a customer/seller relationship quickly bloomed into something more as the connection to the woman on the other end of the line became undeniable. Now, he’s developed impossible feelings for a woman he’s never even laid eyes on before. Here is where one of their conversations lead:   EXERPT: “Can I ask you something?” The tone of her voice pierced his warm haze with doubt. Running a hand over his still-drying hair, he tugged with frustration at his uncharacteristic lack of control…

Kerrigan Byrne | 20 Questions: THE DEVIL IN HER BED
Author Guest / March 3, 2021

1–What is the title of your latest release? THE DEVIL IN HER BED 2–What is it about? It is about a spy and a countess who share a tragic and secret past. They’re thrown together to fight a common enemy, but what they end up fighting is their intense attraction to each other. Francesca, the heroine, has trained her entire life in weapons, combat, and revenge…and eventually, she must decide if the hero, Chandler, is her ally or her foe. 3–What do you love about the setting of your book?  I love that it’s set in the heart of the London elite and is still dangerous as any Scottish battlefield or wild western. 4–How did your heroine surprise you?  Honestly it was how delicate she was. She has trained herself to be bold, strong, and single-minded. But beneath all that she loves not only with ferocity, but with a tenderness and sensitivity that is singular to women, I think. 5–Why will readers love your hero?  This hero is like James Bond meets John Wick and I’m so excited for you to meet him! 6–What was one of your biggest challenges while writing this book (spoiler-free, of course!)?  Mostly it was…

Kerrigan Byrne | Exclusive Interview: ALL SCOT AND BOTHERED
Author Guest / September 23, 2020

Welcome back to Fresh Fiction, Kerrigan! Can you give us a little bit of background on the Devil You Know series and what you’re most excited about in book 2, ALL SCOT AND BOTHERED?   Hi! I have to say this is one of my favorite places in the world to virtually be! Here at Fresh Fiction with you guys. The Devil You Know Series follows three rebellious, red-headed girls who demand the same privileges, freedoms, and education as men. So, in finishing school they formed a society called “The Red Rogues” where they dressed in trousers, read banned books, drank like they weren’t supposed to, and promised never to marry. Of course, they meet the man who entices them to go back on their word! Now, what I love about All Scot and Bothered is that it might be the most fun I’ve ever had with enemies to lovers and opposites attract. Ramsay (the hero) is the opposite of the anti-heroes I’m used to in that he never bends the rules. He’s a perfectionist. He’s grumpy, critical, dangerous, and it was OH SO satisfying to watch as Cecelia unravels his entire world and makes him lose control. At a surface level, Cecelia…

Kerrigan Byrne | Exclusive Interview: HOW TO LOVE A DUKE IN TEN DAYS
Author Guest / August 21, 2019

Thanks for stopping by Fresh Fiction! Can you tell us about your new series, Devil You Know, and the first book, How to Love a Duke in Ten Days? Thank you so much for having me! In the Devil You Know Series, I wanted to celebrate those fierce female friendships that so many of us rely on. Alexandra Lane, Cecelia Teague, and Francesca Cavendish meet at a boarding school and realize they’re girls who want to enjoy all of the pleasures that men are allowed and women are denied. They form the Red Rogues Society, a club where they sneak away and wear trousers, drink port, smoke cigars, and read newspapers. Their bond is secured by a secret, and they vow they’ll do anything for their life-long sisterhood, including never marry. In HOW TO LOVE A DUKE IN TEN DAYS, Lady Alexandra Lane has lived with a painful secret for a decade. She’s paid a villain to keep that secret safe, and now her money has run out. When she is offered salvation in the form of a marriage of convenience to a scarred, reclusive Duke, she realizes they’ll both have to learn how to trust before they can ever…
