Behind The Scenes Of BETTER OFF THREAD, By Amanda Lee
Author Guest / December 5, 2016

When I decided to write BETTER OFF THREAD, I knew I wanted to write a Christmas book and I knew the book had to feature Captain Moe, Tallulah Falls’ resident Santa Claus. Captain Moe has always been one of my favorite characters. I’ve loved him since book one—THE QUICK AND THE THREAD—when he made food for Marcy and Angus, even though the diner was closed. A few years ago, I met Joseph and Mary Moore at a Christmas craft bazaar in Kingsport, Tennessee. The Moores write books and travel the country making appearances as Santa and Mrs. Claus. We had a wonderful time together for the three days we attended the bazaar. As you can see from the photographs, Joe is certainly an authentic looking Santa! The children adored him. They’d shyly come up to him, and Joe/Santa would give a hearty, “Ho! Ho! Ho!” and then he’d ask, “What’s your name?” Upon hearing the answer, Santa would slap a hand to his forehead and say, “Of course! I recognize you now. You’ve just grown so much since last year.” I thought that was the most creative response. I mean, “he sees you when you’re sleeping; he knows when you’re…

Vanessa Vane | Why Montana?
Author Guest / December 5, 2016

I get asked why I write all my books about Montana. There are a number of reasons, so I have to break it down for you. I lived there for five years. Writing about a place I’ve been, but especially lived, brings it all back. No, I didn’t live there in 1885, but you get the idea. Here’s a secret that Montanans know and I’m sharing: It’s one of the best places… ever. It’s a secret because if everyone knew, everyone would live there. Since those of you in Florida or Australia probably aren’t picking up stakes and moving to Montana, you can live vicariously through my books. It’s larger than life. The sky is so big, the prairie so vast, it goes on and on and on. The history is so unique. Butte is fascinating. Imagine, Butte, Montana being the richest city in the world! Ghost towns dot the landscape and Virginia City is like stepping directly into the past. It’s like you can **feel** the past when you’re there. It’s extreme. Winters aren’t for cold weather sissies. Summers are, well, perfect. There is no spring and fall is temperamental. It makes for great plot points! Yes, there are…

CO-AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Amalie Howard and Angie Morgan Interview Each Other
Author Guest / December 5, 2016

Angie, what’s it like writing with a co-author? Is it seriously like the best thing ever? It is seriously the best thing ever, yes! I love that we’ve decided to work together writing romance. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time when it comes to writing. I think my favorite part is brainstorming our books and characters! We work so well together, with each of our different strengths playing roles. Your ability to follow big picture themes and character development, and my ability to think of the smaller details and how they play into those bigger themes. It’s a win-win! Amalie, you’re such a fast writer, I often wonder how you do it. What’s something you have to do to gear up for a writing session? Like, major doses of espresso? Haha, my YA editors always ask if I have clones in my basement. Confession: I might. Just kidding. I’m lucky that I do write quickly. It may not always be awesome, but that’s why I have you. You keep me in my lane when I veer down ridiculous tangents. Readers, I’m not kidding. It’s like SQUIRREL! Or…

Jenna Bayley-Burke | Romance And Chocolate
Author Guest / December 1, 2016

All I need to be happy is a comfy spot to curl up with a warm blanket and a great romance novel. Where the only sound is the tapping of rain on the roof, a steaming mug of tea is within reach, next to a box of truffles that is always full – kind of like Mary Poppin’s bag. I have too many kids for this scenario to happen without magic, so I’m going for it. It’s a crazy world out there, peeps. You’ve got to do whatever you can to hold onto the happy. Things that get me smiling always find a way into my stories. Sometimes more than one story. I have an absolute obsession with Moonstruck Chocolates. It’s a Portland thing, but in the damn-that’s-delicious way, not the uber-cool-lumbersexual-hipster way. Though there was that one time they put a bird on it… The flavor of these chocolates is so on point, you want to share them with everyone and keep them to yourself because there is nothing like the blend of cocoa, ancho and chipotle chiles in the Ocumarian truffle. I got my first taste of it while writing Just One Spark, and just had to let…

Kerry Adrienne | Meet Derek Poole (from PURSUING THE BEAR)
Author Guest / December 1, 2016

Character Interview (Perspective): Meet park ranger and woodworker, Derek Poole from PURSUING THE BEAR “Sure!” Oh crap, that was too eager. Bria lowered her voice and tried again. “I mean, sure, if you’re already heading that way. Don’t go out of your way on my account, though. I have this.” She held up the compass. “And you know how to use it?” Derek’s eyes shone. It seems like you have a bit of a humorous streak. Do you like to tease? Derek: I only tease people I like. And it’s gentle teasing. Nothing mean or bullying of course. With all the issues in Deep Creek National Park right now, I find having a sense of humor helps me cope. I also hope it puts people at ease. So you don’t tease the lions? I haven’t really had the chance. Besides, they’re trying to take the bears’ land away, and the cave. With war brewing, I really don’t spend a lot of time thinking about how to entertain the lions. Especially the twins, Marco and Mason. Those lions are trouble waiting to happen. But you tease Bria? Yeah. I kind of like her. (chuckles) She’s so smart, though. I’m not sure…

SECRETS by Lindsay McKenna and an EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT!
Author Guest / December 1, 2016

Hi Dear Readers! Well, it’s that time again! My next Delos series book, SECRETS, is available, released on 11.21.16! Novella, 2B2 is a sequel follow-up on UNBOUND PURSUIT, 2B1, which was released on 9.29.16). This is Mark Reuss and Mattie Lockwood’s story. If you read UNBOUND PURSUIT, you met Mark Reuss, who was a dark, secretive secondary character. He’s a man with a violent past and moves in and out of the lives of the people who love him. Darkness surrounded him. Could love rescue him… EXCERPT: December 23rd Mark Reuss was in such deep shit he couldn’t see daylight any more. His broken lower left arm ached so badly, he wanted to yell like a banshee, but the blackness of the Texas night, the biting December cold seeping into his body, made him call on all his ex-recon Marine skills to escape up the hill. He kept his night vision goggles over his eyes as he climbed, while below him ATF, DEA, Border Patrol and FBI agents swarmed around an 18-wheeler truck. Thanks to Mark, they’d made a surprise raid on Mexican drug lord Diego Cardona’s vehicles, and now American agents were rounding up what was left of the…

Explore the Royal-Kagan Shifter World
Author Guest / December 1, 2016

Their bond is heaven on earth…but it could tear their pack apart. Ethan Jager is forced to hide behind a false identity as his pack mates suffer under Michael Tanner’s rule. It’s not his choice; he was born broken, without the primitive urge to breed driving him to pick a mate. While his wolf sleeps, his heart has chosen for him: Noah, widower and fellow pack dominant. Everything changes the day Hannah Kagan smiles at him. Lust awakens his wolf–a first. Hannah is beautiful, loyal, kind, everything an alpha male should want. And mating her will allow him to reclaim his pack. It will also leave his soul with a giant hole when he’s forced to rip Noah out of his life. Hard choices are required of alpha males, but choosing which lover to let go is one Ethan refuses to make. The alternative will not only change the pack, but transform their world…if he can keep his mates alive long enough to claim them both. Warning: Contains an alpha male whose wolf doesn’t like to share his toys, a dominant female who’s nobody’s plaything, and a beta male who doesn’t roll over for anyone. Also: speed dating, werewolf style….
