Danielle Dresser | Most Anticipated New Releases: Fall-Winter 2020!

August 10, 2020

This has been a roller coaster of a year when it comes to books and reading. I don’t think a read a full book in the month of March, but I read over 10 books in July! With Fall quickly approaching, here are a bunch of wonderful and intriguing titles coming out this month through the end of the year, and I cannot wait for everyone to read them.

AUGUST

Here to Stay by Adriana Herrera – Two New Yorkers get together while they’re both working in Texas. There’s some workplace drama, instant attraction, and much more. Sexy, fun, and low angst.

You Had Me at Holaby Alexis Daria – This felt like reading an entire season of Jane the Virgin. Clever, funny, and ultimately, uplifting.

Out on the Ice by Kelly Farmer – So we can’t go to hockey games, but we CAN read about them. badass ladies to boot? Sign me up.

Also look for: Marriage by Arrangement by Sophia Singh Sisson, Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles

SEPTEMBER

When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole – I am not a thriller reader. I repeat – I am NOT a thriller reader. but I stayed up well past my bedtime to finish this book. It’s riveting, sobering, and 100% compelling. I had to know how it ended.

Well Played by Jen DeLuca Remember simpler times when we could safely go to Renaissance Faires? Jen DeLuca is BACK with another delightful romance set against the most delightful Ren Faire around.

Ties That Tether by Jane Igharo First of all–THIS COVER. Second, THIS COVER AGAIN. Third, I love that this book is set in Canada and features characters of different social classes and backgrounds. So much inherent drama and sexual tension from the start. (PS LOOK AT THIS COVER)

Be sure to consider these, too: Trust Fund Fiancee by Naima Simone,  A Rogue of One’s Own by Evie Dunmore

OCTOBER

How the Multiverse Got Its Revenge by K. Eason  – Sci-fi with fairy tale elements? **raises hand** How Rory Thorn Destroyed the Multiverse was one of my top reads of last year and this one is shaping up to follow suit the year.

Murder on Cold Street by Sherry Thomas  – LADY SHERLOCK. She’s back! What else do I need to say?

Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade  – Set in the world of online fan fiction, a plus-sized cosplayer and writer gets the chance of a lifetime to go on a date with the star of the show she’s obsessed with, and learns he has secrets and ideas of his wn about the character he plays.

Wait, there’s more!: Untamed Passion by Cat Schield, Snapped by Alexa Martin

NOVEMBER

Patience & Esther by SW Searle  – an erotic romance graphic novel set in Edwardian London. Why haven’t you preordered this already?

*The Truth About Dukes by Grace Burrowes  – No one writes dukes quite like Grace Burrowes (I should know; I worked with her on her debut novel THE HEIR many years ago). Her characters feel familiar from the start, and not just because they may have popped up in previous books. They are friendly and fun, and fall deliriously in love.

Confessions in B Flat by Donna Hill – An unusual historical setting (the 1960s), an important time (the Civil Rights movement is under way), told in an authentic way by an #ownvoices author. I cannot wait.

Don’t forget about these: The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany by Lori Nelson Spielman, Just Like This by Cole McCade

DECEMBER

How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams A buttoned-up professor decides to live a little, and meets a seemingly perfect guy along the way. I haven’t read this one yet, but can’t wait for all the fun and sexy shenanigans.

Second Chance on Cypress Lane by Reese Ryan Reese is one of my favorite Harlequin Deisre authors, so I cannot wait for her foray into single title contemporary romance/women’s fiction. Second-Chance Romance is a difficult trope to master, but I have faith in Reese to do it justice!

*The Storm Bringing by Isabel Cooper This has been labeled as The Witcher but feminist, and real talk? I’m here for a fantasy romance that pits good against evil with a staunchly feminist edge.

How about a few more: Off Limits Attraction by Jayci Lee, How to Catch a Queen by Alyssa Cole

Let me tell you, it was a struggle to keep this to just three books per month. there are so many great books coming out this year! What are you looking forward to reading through the rest of the year?

*Once upon a time, I was the publicist for these two authors. I no longer work for the publisher that published the books I worked on with these authors, but wanted to point out that years ago, I worked on behalf of these authors for media outreach
