Scarlett Cole | Five Favorite Moments in Preload series
Author Guest / May 4, 2018

Hi there, and thank you for joining me over here on Fresh Fiction today. I’m so excited to be here celebrating the release of LENNON REBORN. And with the final book in the series comes the usual question, “Which was your favorite moment of the series?” So, I thought I’d cut to the chase and share them here with you. The Preload series features four men who group up in a Toronto group home together… men who went on to the dizzy heights of success as one of the world’s most incredible metal bands. Dred, the lead singer, is the hero of THE PUREST HOOK in the Second Circle Tattoos series, but Preload focuses on the rest of the band. Without further ado, here are my five favorite moments from the series: The Phone – JORDAN RECLAIMED Jordan has lived most of his life disconnected, literally, from the rest of the world with the exception of the band. He sleeps in the attic, despite living in a beautiful house and doesn’t even own the bass guitars he plays. But meeting Lexi, his ballerina, and the light to his dark, he realizes for the first time in his life that he…

Scarlett Cole | Inspiration for Preload Rock Star series
Author Guest / January 3, 2018

I’m so happy to be visiting Fresh Fiction today, and I thought I’d share with you a list of the things that inspired me to write my Preload rock star romance series. It was a culmination of lots of different things, so here goes: The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog by Dr. Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D. As soon as I read this book by child psychologist, Bruce Perry, I immediately knew how the band came together. With traumas that would last well into adult life and backgrounds that would unite them in a care home instead of with a loving family of their own, the five men began to take shape. The case featured in the title became in the inspiration for Jordan’s story in JORDAN RECLAIMED. Toronto I love my other home city!! I moved to Toronto in 2000, and over the next fifteen years, I’d meet my husband in a Toronto nightclub, and give birth to both of my children at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Lake Shore Boulevard. I love Toronto with my whole heart, and the places in the stories are often places I’ve visited. For example, in ELLIOTT REDEEMED, Kendalee’s son is in…

Scarlett Cole | Top 5 Rockstars
Author Guest / August 30, 2017

It’s impossible to not love a rock star. At least, I think so. Charisma, stage presence, talent, and more energy and stamina than the proverbial Duracell bunny. Mix that with their ability to serenade us in their sexy voice, to move like lightning along a seven-string, or roar like thunder from the drum kit and I am completely sunk. Which is why I LOVE rock star romance. I stalk my favorite authors and scour their pages for just a hint of new material. I’ll even add their book releases to my calendar so I don’t miss a release. So, who are my favorite rockers in romance? Phew, tough question! But in compiling this list, I’ve marked quite a few books for a re-read. Therefore, in no particular order, here are my Top 5 rock star romances. THE MIGHTY STORM – Samantha Towle Those of you who know me, know I LOVE music. I’ve been known to go to over thirty concerts a year. And I love it when an author weaves music seamlessly into stories. While I could just say I love the story because of Jake Wethers, it’s the clever use of the song Hurt, originally written by Nine…

Scarlett Cole’s Top Military Heroes
Author Guest / August 1, 2017

Military heroes are the twofer of romance. They fit the bill of a romantic lead with their alpha ways, rugged good looks, and heroic ways, and provide the double whammy of bad-ass protector. And yet despite the box we attempt to put them in, there are lots of different versions and interpretations of them. So, who would be my favorite military heroes? You would think picking them would be easy, but it wasn’t. Here goes: First up would be Kimberly Kincaid’s Kellan Walker from SKIN DEEP, the first in her Station Seventeen series. He is a scorching hot hero who is a tough-as-nails former army ranger. I love this story because of Kellan’s continued commitment to service through his dedication to his community as a firefighter once he leaves the military. When he’s not fighting fires, he’s fighting his attraction to for the sexy detective who he thinks botched a case that was supposed to keep his sister safe. But as with every great romance, nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Kellan has to work with her to stop a ruthless killer, despite the sparks that fly between the two of them. If you love Keanu Reeves…
