Author Guest / June 27, 2019

Warrior in Love is about a professional tomb robber and a Valkyrie on the hunt to retrieve an ancient artifact before it’s used to trigger Ragnarök – but treasure hunters have been around for decades! Here are my Top 5 Tomb Raider movies! #5: Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft Oh, come on – you knew this was going to be here! Yes, I know it’s from a video game – and yes, it had a sequel and has been rebooted since. But to me, this first movie was a great show of female power and strength, with Lara charging in where men feared to tread to find the treasure. A great movie! #4 The Mummy (NO, not the Tom Cruise one – the Brendan Fraser one!) Rick O’Connell kicked Royal Butt in this movie, chasing down an ancient mummy along with finding true love with Evy – a librarian who is much tougher than she looks. Don’t you DARE email me and argue for the Tom Cruise version – no, no, no! #3 The Mummy Returns No, it’s not cheating! Not when you see that Evy and Rick have an ADORABLE little boy and he’s just as…

As a Canadian, I love snow. I grew up with the white stuff and remember fondly going out for Halloween with my costume on over my snowsuit, carrying my goodie bag through the show. So, when I was imagining a place forWarrior Nights, my thoughts went to a small town that would be snowed in at least once a year. Just imagine—the perfect little town in the mountains, a lovely place that happened to get snowed in for a few days. Nothing big to worry about, right? You snuggle in, stay warm and read those books on your TBR pile, maybe binge on holiday movies until the plows come in from the Big City to re-establish communication… There’s a certain beauty about small towns. I grew up in Toronto, so I was a classic city girl—mass transit right outside the front door, a corner store within a few minutes walking and shopping… well, let’s just say that my credit card never had a chance to catch his breath. Add in an amazing number of food choices, most of them within walking range and you can’t beat a large city for making it easy to spend money! But there’s something to…

Whenever you mention Las Vegas, you always think of the gambling – and why not, the casinos dominate the skyline and almost every vacation image you see include a shot of the gambling tables! But there’s more to Vegas than just the slots… and if you’re looking for some quiet time, I’ve got the place for you! Mandalay Bay is a great casino, but if you step to the side and turn a corner, you’ll find yourself at the Aquarium – and another entire world waiting for you to explore! The Shark Reef aquarium gives an entire different experience and for only a few dollars you can not only find yourself nose-to-nose with a shark, but also a chance to touch a live stingray! When I was writing HARD PURSUIT, I needed a quiet place for Trey to take Ally – somewhere that wasn’t filled with loud music and provided a welcome distraction. But aside from a restaurant (and I’ve been told I write a LOT of eating scenes!), where do you go, especially in Las Vegas? Answer – a magical, wonderful aquarium where you can imagine yourself swimming with the sharks, far away from the dry heat and frantic…
