Sharina Harris | Vampire Diaries Meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Author Guest / August 29, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? SIGN OF THE SLAYER   2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? Vampire Diaries meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer in this fast-paced, modern paranormal romance. Raven is just your average high school student until the day she’s attacked by rogue vampires.  Now not only is she a reluctant vampire hunter for the Slayer Society, but she’s walking a thin line between love and hate for the powers surging inside of her and the one guy she thought she could trust…the same one who brought her to the society in the first place.   3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? I love Atlanta and I’ve been living here for twenty years. For me, it just made sense to elevate the city I adore.   4–Would you hang out with your protagonist in real life? Absolutely, especially teenage Sharina. She’s a loyal friend who will put her friend’s needs above her own.   5–What are three words that describe your protagonist? Sarcastic, kick-ass, impulsive.   6–What’s something you learned while writing this book? My vampire slayers use alchemy to fight vampires, so I learned a lot about Alchemy in terms of history, theory, and famous Alchemists….

Eunice Amnell | 20 Questions: THE PACK OUTCAST
Author Guest / December 8, 2022

1–What is the title of your latest release? THE PACK OUTCAST 2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book? The Pack Outcast is a reverse harem paranormal romance book that takes you on a young girl’s journey from pack outcast to finding people whom she can always trust to be on her side. It’s the third book in my interconnected standalone series called The Fae Omegas Series. It’s a great read if you like strong heroines that can be a tad bit overpowered, mate bond relationships, and a rich variety of reverse harem males from older instructor alpha males who will always take the heroine’s side to boy-next-door best friend mates. 3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place? The book starts in Amelia’s pack but the main location is a supernatural academy—Camdine Academy—for educating young adults belonging to the four main supernatural factions: Werewolves, Vampires, Fae, and Mages. I always knew that for my character to escape the corruption that usually brews in packs, she would need a place to escape to. She was too young to go train in a top organization like the Supernatural Council, so the best place for her to prove…

Author Guest / October 31, 2022

Instead of trying to find your perfect match in a dating app, we bring you the “Author-Reader Match” where we introduce you to authors you may fall in love with. It’s our great pleasure to present Lenore Borja!   Writes: As a debut author, I might be new to the scene, but I’ve been creating stories for as long as I can remember. As a child, I’d stare out the window, elaborate daydreams dancing through my head. Later, while studying to be an actor, I’d write pages of backstory for my characters, diving deeper into their lives than the scene required. Eventually, I had characters to create and stories of my own to tell, and my first novel, THE LAST HUNTRESS, was born. THE LAST HUNTRESS is a YA fantasy that takes you to a realm behind the mirror where demons lurk, infecting humanity through its reflections. You’ll join Alice and her three best friends as they uncover an ancient plot that threatens the future of our world. This is a romantasy that celebrates the magic of female friendships and demonstrates how far we’ll go to save the people we love.   About: Writer seeks reader who loves an urban…

Author Guest / October 27, 2022

A SUCKER FOR YOU by Marlene Perez, Copyright © 2022, Excerpt with Permission from Entangled   “Finally, I tiptoed back into the bedroom. Vaughn was still sprawled out on the bed, sound asleep. I couldn’t stop staring at the pulse at his neck. My fangs came down, and a voice in my head urged me to bite, to drink. Instead, I grabbed my phone. I wouldn’t put Vaughn in danger just to appease my vamp hunger. “Rose, I need you,“ I whispered. “Something’s wrong. Come here as soon as you can.” I managed to walk into the living room and waited until I heard a soft knock. “What’s wrong?” Rose asked. She had her portable apothecary with her. I told her about the green bile, the bloodlust, everything. She frowned. “I’ll need a lock of your hair or a bit of your blood,” she said, then looked at my eyes. Something in them made her add hastily, “Hair, I think.” She took out a tiny pair of scissors and snipped at my hair. “You may as well cut it all,” I joked. “It’s been growing faster than ever lately.” Her lips didn’t even turn up as she mixed together a…

That’s the setting. 4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life? For sure, because I am my heroines in real life. Vanessa Barneveld Interview – Spooky and Sweet YA Fiction
Author Guest , Interviews / February 17, 2022

As a reader, I was never really interested in reading YA stories until a few years ago. I find them very compelling since the main characters are usually dealing with transition and emotional upheaval. What inspires you to write YA fiction? To me, they’re compelling because there’s so much our characters to deal with in such a short time and they’re not always ready for them. I love putting myself in the shoes of my heroines and seeing how they act/react. Life is suddenly very complicated. You’ve got your first love, first heartbreak, school, family, friends, the pressure cooker that is social media. When you’re a teenager, everything feels like a life-or-death situation. At least, that’s how I saw things back then! On top of all that, there’s the bewildering physical changes. And that’s just contemporary YA. Imagine what happens when you’ve got vampires, witches, ghosts, and/or aliens lurking around. Imagine if *you* are a teen witch and struggling to find your place in the world. It’s funny—I started writing YA fiction when I was about 13-15 and literally haven’t stopped. Like a lot of kids, I went through a turbulent time back then. The library was like a safe…

Jerri Chisholm | Exclusive Excerpt: UNRAVELING ELEVEN
Author Guest / November 19, 2021

“Why is it,” Jeffrey Sitwell asks, “that you want to become a guard?” Under the desk, my steel-toed boot taps against the floor. Unsteady fingers smooth my ponytail, they tug my blazer straight. The past two hours were spent celebrating; Emerald is now a professional fighter, though it was never in question, and Maggie is a writer for Compound Eleven’s paper. I am happy for my friends, but now it’s my turn. I take a steadying breath and glance around the small office where I sit, one located on the fourth floor where the guardship is housed. A concrete room, no decoration or ornament whatsoever. Nothing to distract me from the two men sitting across the table. One of them has black hair and black skin, and his name is Dirk Nkrumah. He wears the uniform of a guard, but he is no regular guard. He is the most senior guard of the compound, and I loathe him for this reason alone. Beside him is Sitwell, a man much older, a Preme, one dressed in a navy-blue suit with gold cufflinks, one with white hair and a sharply cut nose. The one in charge of Compound Eleven’s security. His skin…
