Jus Accardo | A Young Druid Meets a Handsome Fae Royal at the Winter Court
Author Guest / August 3, 2023

1–What is the title of your latest release? OMEN OF ICE   2–What’s the “elevator pitch” for your new book?  When a young druid arrives at the Winter Court to act as the protector for a handsome Fae royal, she discovers that everyone is hiding a secret—and his might be the key to saving the world—or destroying it.   3–How did you decide where your book was going to take place?  The idea behind Derriga came to me a long time ago. I’ve been playing with it off and on for years. When I came up with Omen’s characters, Derriga was the perfect home for them!   4–Would you hang out with your heroine in real life?  Um, hell yes. Tania is a badass. And though she doesn’t like to admit it, she’s got a killer sense of humor (Valen would disagree…)   5–What are three words that describe your hero? Depends on who you ask… Tania would say that she’s loyal, focused, and brave. Valen, on the other hand, would say that she’s beautiful, stubborn, and in desperate need of some fun. He’d also argue that last one was one word because he said it really, really fast.  …

Jus Accardo | 5 Reasons that you’ll be Team Kensey
Author Guest / March 15, 2018

Kensey Deaton, the heroine of my newest book, THE BIG BAD WOLF, is a bit of a rule breaker. She’s strong, opinionated, and refuses to be stuffed into an archaic mold created by the werewolf patriarchy. There are a million reasons that I’m Team Kensey. Here are the top five. Fashion sense. Kensey is a flannel, T-shirt, and jeans kind of girl. Comfort above the painful style that most pack daughters embrace. She has a passion for quirky T-shirt sayings that make me jealous of her wardrobe. Case in point one that says, “If ya can’t beat em, join em—then beat em.“ She knows who she is—and embraces it. Kensey is the kind of girl who knows herself. She knows what she wants and won’t stop till she gets it. She’s never fit in with the other pack daughters and that’s fine with her. While they keep the most primal parts of their wolves chained and buried away, Kensey is shameless and free, enjoying who—and what—she is. She’s not a pushover. When pushed, Kensey Deaton pushes back. So many people in her life think they know what’s good for her. Where she should go, what she should eat—who she should…

Jus Accardo | The reality of alternate reality
Author Guest / August 1, 2017

The Infinity Division series follows a group of teens who have the ability to travel between dimensions via a very special device. Each place they go is Earth—generally within their own town of Wells—but a different reality. The differences are sometimes minor—sometimes monumental. The best part of doing a series like this is the variety. The setting is always changing. I can work within the same town, yet have a completely different set of rules. The characters are always changing. Some of my favorite moments from Omega are when the main cast encounters alternate versions of people they knew back home. In some cases they’re so hilariously different. In other instances, it’s almost heartbreaking. There’s more dimension hopping—or, skipping, as Cade would say—in Omega. There are an infinite number of realities, and unlike in Infinity (which took place solely on Kori’s world), our heroes visit multiple ones in this book. The ideas for these different realities came to me from various sources. Some were worlds I’d love to see—like the world where everything was flavored with chocolate or the one with no cars. Everyone got around on horseback, yet they were all sporting massive computer tech. Others came from conversations…

Jus Accardo | 5 Things I’ve Learned While Being on the Run by Mikayla Morgan
Author Guest / June 3, 2014

1. Double—and triple—check your overnight accommodations. I learned this the hard way. When the heat is low, crashing at some dive off the interstate is okay. But when the bad guys are hot on your ass, you need something a little more low key. I crashed in an abandoned pet store one night last May, too tired to check the place out properly. Apparently there was a huge chunk of wall missing. I woke up to an unhappy forest dweller in my face—more specifically, a skunk. Let me tell you, keeping it lo-pro while smelling like skunk isn’t easy to do… 2. Always be prepared to bail. This should go without saying, as any situation could turn critical in the blink of an eye. But what about simple things like sleep—or taking a shower? My best advice to those on the lam would be to make sure your wardrobe consists of simple, easy clothing. Don’t even think about those cute wrap around tops or that killer pair of lace up boots… Fashion is going to have to take a back seat to practicality here. And for the love of God, don’t sleep naked. The last thing you want is to…
