Mimi Jean Pamfiloff | Five Things You Didn’t Know About Vampires
Author Guest / October 26, 2018

Vampires. Mythical creatures or really great at hiding in plain sight? It’s definitely the latter, and though records of them have been around for as long as humans could write, we really know so little about this amazing race. Until now! In my new series, THE LIBRARIAN’S VAMPIRE ASSISANT, we discover what is myth and what is real. And as we dive deeper into Michael Vanderhorst’s (our ancient vampire, who works as an assistant librarian) world in book two, not only will he solve a juicy mystery and come to grips with his feelings for a certain librarian, but he will also reveal more shocking secrets about his kind. For example: 1. Vampires DO walk in the sun. It’s true! SEE PROOF HERE! They just really hate it as they are hypersensitive to the rays and the sun forces their bodies to work overtime, healing their skin. Sunscreen helps a little, but as Michael points out, Arizona—where he lives—is no match for SPF 100! Still, poor guy, keeps having to kill people in order to protect his favorite librarian! (She’s a huge danger magnet.) That means more trips to the desert for a little grave digging. SEE HERE! Now that’s a…

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff | My All-Time TOP 5 Favorite Things VAMPIRE! (Muahaha…)
Author Guest / March 8, 2018

It’s not a mystery! You gotta love vampires if you’re going to write them. But you also have to know a lot about the lore if you’re going to do a new take on a very old theme. For me, that meant dusting off some of my old favorites and figuring what to keep and what to throw away. Hint: My vampires drink coffee and walk in the sun, though they don’t particularly enjoy it! As for my inspiration for this new series? You have to take a trip back in time with me! Ready? I give you my all-time favorite things vampire! INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE, by Anne Rice Originally published in 1967, this book always goes on my list of all-time favorite anything! I think it’s the first book I ever read and truly fell in love with. It’s suspenseful and sexy and so, so good. In fact, I JUST bought a new copy because I lost mine and it’s time to reread it! Another reason this goes on my list is because it’s the first book my mother and I actually shared. I read this first part of The Vampire Chronicles right about the time book two…

I get a lot of funny questions from readers about my insane deities from the IMMORTAL MATCHMAKERS, INC., SERIES. But the one thing they don’t ask is where the inspiration for my gods came from. Why don’t they ask? Honestly, I think they’re afraid of the answer. Were you on a crazy bender in Vegas, Mimi? Were you tripping on something illegal? Did your mother drop you on your head? All fair hypotheses! Especially given Cimil, the Goddess of the Underworld—a constant character throughout the series. She loves garage sales, hates clowns, is afraid of bugs, and is constantly trying to blow us all up. Oh, and she has a pet unicorn that no one but her can see. But I’m sorry to say that the inspiration for this series wasn’t induced by illegal substances or a bop on the head. The Immortal Matchmakers is a spinoff of my bestselling ACCIDENTALLY YOURS SERIES (seven works total). When I got to the end of that storyline, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these awesome characters, but I also wanted future stories to be standalones. The IMMORTAL MATCHMAKERS were born! Meet Mr. Rook

Interview with Mr. Rook on PAWN (Part Two, Mr. Rook’s Island Series) My name is Gracie Heart, reporter for Exotic Travels Magazine. And I recently had the privilege of interviewing the infamous, Mr. Rook, who runs an exclusive resort for women, where “Your fantasy is our business.” It is said that they can make your wildest fantasies come to life and that the island is so private, no one knows its exact location. To book a trip, you have to know someone who knows someone. It just so happens that I am close friends with a recent guest who put me in touch with Mr. Rook during his layover at JFK. INTERVIEWER: Hello, Mr. Rook. Thank you for agreeing to our interview today. I know you are a very secretive man and don’t grant many of these. ROOK: Yes, yes. Fine. Let’s move this along. I have much to do and the clock is ticking. INTERVIEWER: Ticking? Wow. You sound like you’re in a big hurry. Is something the matter? ROOK: We will be shutting down the island. Hopefully, it will be temporary, but this remains to be seen. INTERVIEWER: Shutting down the island? But then where will women go…

Top Five Reasons We Love Jocks and Nerds
Author Guest / August 29, 2017

We all know that opposites attract—King Kong and his beautiful blonde. Poor little Cinderella and her wealthy Prince. Kermit and Miss Piggy. But in the realm of opposites falling in love, there’s something special about the awkward girl and the cocky popular guy. Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club were my faves growing up. So why do we love these stories so much? Maybe they make us believe that the world can be saved one set of hearts at time. In any case, the jock-and-nerdy-chick stories are at the top of my favorites list and here’s why I loved them enough to create The OHELLNO Series! #1. The jock has a body to worship And let’s face it, no woman can resist a set of perky abs since they make us think about all of the other parts of his body that might be hard and perfect, too. (Wink, wink.) #2. On the inside, most of us feel like nerds—only some of us mask it better Let’s be honest, we have all felt awkward and left out at one point in our lives, which is why the nerdy girl is so relatable. As strong and brainy as she might be,…
