Hamilton’s Anita Blake series – and dive into a world of vampires, hunters, and wereleopards, it got me thinking about my love of romances featuring animal shifters. Awareness is one of the ways that people can help in the conservation of wolves and other wildlife. For wolves, finding wolf centers online, going to the wolf centers, buying merchandise, or adopting wolves are easy ways people can participate in the support of wolves and to help provide for the education on them and their care. This is true for big cat reserves and other such places like bear reserves, or even facilities that care for injured birds: owls, falcons, eagles. Teaching our children, taking them to facilities like this, helps to educate future generations. I read an article about a man who was paid to kill foxes. At some point in his life, he began to study them, taking pictures and documenting them instead. Foxes, their kits—what a treasure to share with the world. And yet if he hadn’t changed his occupation, he would have continued to eliminate foxes for a living. He now has been featured many times in National Geographic. Write, write, write. I plan to have two new wolf books and a jaguar book for 2018, need to figure out who and what. For the jaguar one, I want Howard, the former Enforcer, who desperately needs a mate. I envision in him in the jungle, where all big cats need to get away, and the Enforcer she-cat who is ready to put him on her hitlist if he doesn’t toe the line. And one of Grant’s brothers, for a new Highland Wolf book. Not sure about the other. I’ll be writing another YA fae story, cougar shifter, Medieval Highlander, and polar bear shifter book. Other than that, I can’t wait to visit a friend and fan who took me to see two wolf reserves in Minnesota and we’re going back. She and another friend, who took me all over San Diego, will be there, and we all went to see the wolves in New Mexico together. For about an hour, he chased the wolf through the underbrush of the misty forest, the birds diving for cover in the Douglas fir and western hemlocks as soon as they saw him coming. Vaughn wondered where the wolf was going. He’d been looping around as if trying to reach a location, but then moving in another direction, most likely fearing Vaughn would catch up to him. I LOVE Christmas and decorating, and for werewolves it’s the same. The only difference might be that they LOVE decorating with live plants as it reminds them of their trips to the woods. Evergreen garlands. Mistletoe. Poinsettias. But even better, the Highland wolves in A Highland Wolf Christmas are starting a brand new tradition! A living tree! Shelly is the botanist in the family, and this is her dream. Not only will the pack enjoy the living Christmas tree, but after Christmas day, the pack will gather and they’ll plant it and make even more of a forest on their castle grounds.
