When I was asked to blog about my favorite web series — web series-es? What’s the plural of series?—I jumped at the chance. After all, I love web series — okay, good. It’s series. Five years ago, I scribbled down a few pages about a teen witch who went up against Hecate. The story took root in my brain, and before I really knew what was happening, I’d drafted the book that would become DAUGHTER OF CHAOS, but I didn’t stop there. This is a weird question for me, because one, I don’t have a lot of spare time, and two, I’m usually always doing something related to books! I love to read. I know some authors don’t read a lot because they’re busy writing, but I’m not one of those. I read each night, I read on the couch when my brain is fried from “book stuff”, I read in the car when Mr. Stoker is driving us somewhere. So one thing I do, that I love to do, is read. Something else that Mr. Stoker and I do together, is a game called geocaching. It’s where you use GPS coordinates to find the “treasure” that someone else has hidden. It’s cheap, free, and fun when you can find the hidden container. We have found a geocache in every state, and several different countries too. Mr. Stoker and I also love to camp. There’s something about getting out of your normal routine and relaxing and slowing down. Traveling is another thing we love to do as well. Today was a really bad day for me. I don’t have many really bad days, but when they come up, I’m not a nice person. And the strange thing is that a really bad day has a tendency to escalate into a horrific day quite easily. It started with waking up late. I try to wake up in time to work two hours before my kids go to school. Not today. I not only woke up late, but I woke the kids up late too. Once they’re up, there’s no working until I drop them off and return to the house. Today, life was a mad scramble. After working a frustrating four hours on my current manuscript, my slow descent in chaos escalated when I had a doctor appointment and was told to permanently eliminate sugar from my diet.
