Did you find your SOULMATE? Do you know how to look for him? According to Plato, at one time, humans had two heads, four arms and four legs. If that wasn’t scary enough these humans supposedly had great power. So great that Zeus and the other gods feared their strength. The next thing everyone knew, those humans had a plan to climb to heaven so they could take over. That got everyone’s togas in a wad. Zeus told his buddies not to worry, that he had everything under control, which was why he was Zeus after all. He’d cut all the humans in half to weaken them and on top of that he’d just doubled the number of humans who could worship them. The gods loved this and gave Zeus kudos for solving their dilemma, but the humans weren’t happy at all. They felt empty and confused, wandering around trying to find their way. In a moment of compassion, Zeus decided that every human could have sex with their other half, which would allow them a chance to feel one, and whole, again in that intimate moment. Since that day, we’ve all been hunting our other halves – our soulmates….
Cleo Coyle Murder By Mocha Buy at Coffee House Mystery #10 Berkley August 2011 On Sale: August 2, 2011 Featuring: Clare Cosi 384 pages ISBN: 0425241432 EAN: 9780425241431 Hardcover Add to Wish List Read An Excerpt Dying for Chocolate For over twenty years, my husband and I have been living and working in New York City. Our bestselling Coffeehouse Mysteries—a unique blend of crime, romance, humor, and action—are set here, too, around a landmark Greenwich Village coffee shop called the Village Blend. The newest title, MURDER BY MOCHA, was actually inspired by a true crime (a true culinary crime). At the start of the story, coffeehouse manager Clare Cosi is providing freshly roasted beans for a lucrative new product: Mocha Magic Coffee. Laced with herbal aphrodisiacs, this coffee is supposed to put the “magic moments” back into your love life. “Supposed to” is the operative phrase. Clare is skeptical about the drink’s potency—although she does plan to test it on her boyfriend, NYPD Detective Mike Quinn (when he’s off duty, of course). Before she gets that chance, a corpse shows up in the hotel room of the product’s creator, and then disappears without a trace of evidence that a crime…
A long time ago, an agent told me I would never succeed in the publishing biz unless I picked one already-established genre and stuck with it for several years. I didn’t listen to her despite the fact that I was trying to sell something unheard of – science fiction blended with steamy romance. Today’s readers know it better as futuristic romance. I had also written a suspense thriller containing steamy romance and a comedic category which had plenty of…you guessed it, steamy romance. I received a lot of rejections but eventually I got a foot in one door, then another and another. After I sold all of those, I spread my writing even further, into time-travel, alternate universe, ghost and angel stories and had a screenplay produced. More recently, I did a few non-fiction metaphysical works. And now I’ve added erotic romance to my bibliography. So it’s perfectly normal for me to be working on a new erotic romance series that involves time-travel, ghosts, and an old luxury hotel on an island that’s actually an inter-dimensional portal controlled by supernatural beings. In ZENITH RISING, the first book in the Crystal Island series released by Ellora’s Cave, I got to do…
Sharon Ashwood and the Dark Forgotten series Imagine a world where the vampires, werewolves, and everything else that goes bump in the night comes out of the closet on a network TV talk show. With computers, security cameras, and Facebook to deal with, it’s too hard these days to eat a village and skulk into the night. So, the fanged and furry have signed on for credit cards and Netflix. But, just when humans are getting used to the monster next door, a portal to a prison dimension called the Castle opens up in the downtown, and all the OTHER monsters—the ones too dangerous to roam free—threaten to escape. Not all of them are guilty of a crime. Now no one knows who is safe to set free, who is evil, and who has gone mad from thousands of years in darkness. But, if the wrong monsters invade the human world, a wholesale backlash against the “regular” supernaturals will wipe out any chance of survival, much less a comfy existence with delis catering to werewolves. This is the world of the Dark Forgotten, of sentient houses that threaten to eat their visitors, of vampires whose venom gives an orgasmic high,…

With her “different and unique perspective” (Romantic Times May 2011), debut author Sable Grace takes the paranormal/urban fantasy world by storm in ASCENSION. In the same vein as Jeaniene Frost, Grace delivers a fierce heroine who is called upon to save the world from an evil force. In ASCENSION, Dark Breeds war with mortals, a colossal battle rages between the gods, and two proud beings ache for each other. For two hundred years–since her nightmare days in a Sultan’s harem, Kyana has straddled two worlds. Mercifully “turned” by a stranger, she’s half-Vampyre, half-Lychen–the last of her kind–with no love for the mortal race that once imprisoned her. But the Order of the Ancients fears humanity’s annihilation is at hand, and entrusts Kyana with a mission: find the mythical key that will seal the realm of Hades for eternity…whatever the cost. Kyana is furious to learn her mission comes with an escort: Ryker, a demigod and fierce warrior who long ago found a way under her skin and stayed there. In a shaky alliance, they discover an ancient cult with dangerous motives and a god who seeks to destroy all others. As Kyana begins to feel the heat that threatens to…
“Erin Quinn writes with power, passion and heart,” Nalini Singh, NYT Bestseller. Sometimes a man can change your life. Sometimes he can do more than that—he can change the way you feel about your life…. Tiarnan, hero of Haunting Desire, is just such a man. In his youth, he blazed hot and fast, battling his enemy and charging into the fray without thought or fear. But now Tiarnan is older and wiser. Time and circumstances have used and abused him. He’s become a warrior who’s lost his will to fight. A leader who refuses to take charge. A lover who is afraid to touch. Enter Shealy O’Leary, a woman who sees behind the mask to the man…the man whose courage and loyalty is boundless, who puts himself between her and danger time and again. She knows that Tiarnan is someone who can help her shed the baggage of a lifetime and become the woman she’s always wanted to be. And she’s right. Here’s a small excerpt from a favorite scene in HAUNTING DESIRE—one that might give you a glimpse into Tiarnan’s heart. “When I saw those men,” he said, and his voice still held a deep, raspy tone, as if…
EVERY CHILD HAS A GIFT and A PASSION The great thing about being a kid is that you have to learn when to NOT go for something, because we come out of the womb ready to jump at any chance life throws out. Like every child, I was born with a gift, but I was fortunate to also have a passion for using that gift and found encouragement along the way in the moments that counted. The only downside? My gift was the ability to draw and paint photo-realistic portraits of anything I saw. Why was that a downside? Because art was never considered a viable way to make a living when I was growing up. If you’ve read any articles about my past, you know that I lost my mom when I was 17 and that I moved out on my own right after that. What you may not know is that I give a lot of the credit for my art and writing success to my mom. My mom, like many moms, spent hours helping her five children with homework and class projects, but she and my father differed on one point. My mom appreciated my gift of…
Dear Reader Friends: Living in Vermont, where lots of snow is a given every winter, I love to snowshoe and cross-country ski. It was during such a trek along picturesque snow-covered trails that I came up with the idea for KISS THE MOON, my very first stand-alone novel for MIRA Books. Thanks to reader demand, my publisher is reissuing KISS THE MOON this week with a haunting new cover. In KISS THE MOON, Penelope Chestnut ventures into the frozen woods of the lakes region of New Hampshire and discovers the wreckage of a small plane. An aviator herself, she sees clues to a conspiracy in the rusted-out remains. Rumors of her discovery bring Wyatt Sinclair to Cold Spring. He is determined to put to rest a family scandal and learn what really happened to his legendary uncle, who had disappeared with his adventuress lover years earlier in a private plane. As Wyatt and Penelope investigate, old motives are uncovered and new ones created, including a growing attraction between the two. But when an unknown enemy emerges with a violence rooted in desperation, uncovering the truth will be far less problematic than surviving it. If you’re looking for a good book…
Dear Reader Friends: I think you can tell from my ongoing Virgin River series, that I’m passionate about the men and women who serve in the armed forces for our country. Passionate about their honor, their bravery and the many sacrifices they and their families make for the rest of us. I know of what I write when I create these to-die-for heroes that have my readers wanting to move to Virgin River. My husband was an Air Force helicopter and jet pilot; my son is an active-duty Army orthopedic surgeon, who recently returned from Iraq. Of course, I didn’t model Jack or Preacher or Colin Riordan, the hero in my February Virgin River novel, WILD MAN CREEK, after my family’s military men (although they might like to think so!). But I do know what drives these men—what haunts them, and what makes them happy. As for Colin, he came to Virgin River to recuperate from a horrific helicopter crash, the scars of which he bears inside and out. His family is wonderfully supportive, but it’s his art that truly soothes his troubled soul. Stung personally and professionally by an ill-advised affair, PR guru Jillian Matlock has rented an old…
